Fuck, what an ugly piece of shit. I bet it'll also look even worse when it's out of concept stage. and the engine will probably be incredibly choked by emissions.
you realise the lobo is literally the market name for an f150 in mexico. Its not that the car looks the same, its simply sold as a lobo over there... So I am basically entirely failing to see your point here
Thick a-pillars really bug me too, which is partly why I loved my 30-year-old economy car . Luckily, I'm pretty sure the regulations only mention how strong they have to be, not how thick, i.e. they're only thick because it's more difficult and expensive to make them thin AND strong. It's entirely possible that Mazda could develop a strong enough a-pillar that thin by 2020. At least I hope so.
Indeed, if we develop strong enough materials to pass safety regs with relatively low thickness we might have truly beautiful cars again that don't look as bulky as today's cars. Until then there's a long way to go though...
We're in another awkward stage of car design, like when the new bumper standards were introduced in the early '70s. Cars then had bulky, ugly bumpers for years until companies could figure out how to integrate them properly. Now it's with roof strength instead. Everyone knows what I'm talking about but here are pics anyway. Left is a '73 and right is a '74. Ew.
The RX9, actually looks pretty decent, although, i will always prefer the older designs/versions. The one thing i'm excited the most is that they're bringing back: #ROTARYPOWAAA!!! Ahem, i just hope it's not a lie... Even if it is, i don't care, already got my Rx7 xD
