Hey everyone! I’m working on MediaDash, a BeamNG.drive infotainment mod that replaces the default media/navigation screen with a modern in-car interface. The main feature is real Windows media integration. MediaDash reads the current Windows media session and displays your real music inside BeamNG vehicle screens. It is designed to work with BeamNG’s standard infotainment screen system, which means it can work with official vehicles, compatible modded vehicles, and even BeamNG’s dashboard GPS accessory. Implemented Features Real Windows media display inside BeamNG.drive Reads the current Windows media session Displays current track/media information Spotify support through Windows media integration Recommended Spotify setup: control Spotify on PC using Spotify Connect from the mobile app, creating a real infotainment-like experience Screen switching between Menu, GPS and Music Manual screen switching using Page Up / Page Down Automatic screen detection between Music and GPS If media is playing, MediaDash can automatically show the Music screen If no media is playing, MediaDash can return to the GPS screen Original BeamNG GPS functionality remains working Works with BeamNG’s dashboard GPS accessory Works with official vehicles using BeamNG’s standard infotainment/media system Works with compatible modded vehicles using BeamNG’s standard screen system For Spotify, I recommend using Spotify Connect from the mobile app to control Spotify running on the PC. This makes it feel much closer to a real car infotainment experience. Compatibility MediaDash should work with any vehicle that uses BeamNG’s standard multimedia/navigation screen system. This includes: Official BeamNG vehicles with infotainment screens Modded vehicles using the same screen system Cars without built-in screens through BeamNG’s GPS accessory Compatibility may still vary depending on how each modded vehicle implements its screen. In Development Direct mouse interaction with the in-car screen Better input support Optimization and performance improvements More polished behavior across different screen sizes Improved automatic screen switching logic Experimental Ideas I’m also experimenting with more advanced features, including the possibility of a native browser inside the infotainment screen. This is still very early research and not guaranteed yet. Important Note MediaDash is not affiliated with Apple, Google, BeamNG GmbH or any vehicle manufacturer. It is a custom BeamNG.drive infotainment system inspired by modern car media interfaces. Feedback is welcome, especially about compatibility, screen readability, UI layout and feature ideas.
