Metal fatigue

    I guess this does not apply to Bounded type like beams which are springs and shock absorbers? Are other than Normal types affected?

    What does it affect, beamdeform? Is that value x (with every change of length the beamdeform is divided by this x) fixed or can it be defined in jbeam?

    Sorry my bad, i didn't explain sufficiently well. What affects the metal fatigue (as it applies to deformation) is repeat expanding and compressing deformations. So if one compressed and expands a beam but does it without any deformation of the beam then no fatigue will happen.

    Also, with the exception of PRESSURED beams, all other beams that deform have deformation fatigue apply to them.

    It isn't controlled from the jbeam. It naturally arises from the equations that are used inside the core.

    Is it affected by the material of the part? Do plastic and metal have different fatigue resistance levels?

    Plastic and metal have different deformation and strength levels. So the overall behavior adjusts due to that.

    Thank you for the answer estama, do you know if beams breaking from fatigue will ever be implemented?

    I've just checked the code in more detail (it is in a part that i haven't visited for some time now), and it appears that beam strength limit does get lower from fatigue, so i was wrong when i've said that fatigue does not affect beam breaking.

    Sorry about the conflicting information, but my memory is getting weaker, especially with things that i haven't touched recently.
