The thing for me in minecraft is that there isn't any sort of copy and paste like feature, and that redstone isn't really that big scale - Otherwise I could make a computer But good job on that, although I don't know what it does . You should make it read notes on a "sheet" of music. I saw that once- it was pistons moving blocks around in a circle and the blocks would go through a machine to see if it conducts redstone, which is a 1 or if not its a 0, glass for example doesn't conduct but stone does. That's the basic principle.
Both the 3rd party utility MCEdit and the Bukkit plugin WorldEdit are capable of copy/paste, and both are pretty intuitive.
With MCEdit I'd have to keep saving and loading the world, and it copies everything you select, like the ground, etc. Not very intuitive tbh. And I hate bukkit either way. Besides I was talking more about the 16 block range of redstone, having 10 repeaters just to go somewhere, that's a delay of a full second.
