Hello! Greetings to everyone and BeamNG devs! I thought... It'd be cool if someone made a BeamNG mod that adds a custom number (your choice number) of illegal street racers on the map and they try provoking you to races or flash their headlights at you and just drive recklessly accross the map (and you can join them, too!) It'd be even nicer to have this as a feature added by the devs, though. Full details: Because in default BeamNG, it's hard to make specific cars - only two or three - drive recklessly between NORMAL cars... I think it'd be cool to have three slots where you can spawn a car of your choice from the vehicle selector, and the mod/newly added feature simplifies its JBEAM to reduce lag, while maintaining the physics and handling. Not only that, but you aren't limited to vanilla cars - you can load any mod you have. Maybe you want to have a motorbike cruise! :3 It could also be nice to use an 'AI driver training' mode where you enable a button, and YOU drive around the map for like 10 minutes, but drive the way you want your three illegal racers to drive. Then the AI will mimick the way you drove. And you can save different driving styles as presets, and not only that, but you can also make each of the three racers drive differently. You can make them split, drive in random directions, or make them drive in a group and wait/catch up to each other, and there'd be an optional button that you can check to make them stop on the side of the road once ten minutes - an optional feature you can enable/disable. Let's say there are five spawning areas for a certain map - when you open the map, you can open the illegal racer mod/feature as an UI app and place it on the screen, then choose which place out of the five you want your racers to spawn. You can also spawn each in separate places and make them join each other at certain points in the map. You can let them roam freely or either have a destination. But, what I want most, is an improved AI driving model. If anyone has ever tried joining a manually spawned car that was set to 'flee' between all the normal traffic vehicle, you probably know that the AI will be: - too reckless and prone to crashing - unable to control the brakes properly - always slamming on them too hard and locking the tires/making the car spin out and lose control Which isn't ideal if you're trying to get it to drive more than five minutes without having it crash. Also, about them provoking you, there could be a pannel you can collapse, with different modes that you can choose for all three racers or for each car separately, so they either: - ignore you - always try provoking (rather sort of asking) you to join them by flashing their headlights chaotically whenever they pass by you (example - 100 meters radius) for 20 seconds (so they don't annoy you too much) - or mostly leave you in peace but occasionally (a slider can adjust the chance of this happening from 1 to 100) flash their headlights at you in a specific pattern to let you know they want you to join them You could also make the three cars follow your route (and stop by you with hazard lights if you crash!) by flashing the one in front of you with their specific pattern - and that car will flash the other two to let them know you're the leader now. If you want to switch back to you following them, just enable your hazard lights three times in eight seconds - and within 10 seconds, a randomizer will be enabled that chooses one of the three racers to take charge the moment you let the three overtake you. Even in this mode, they will stop if you crash. If you don't want to be neither first or last, and you want the middle grounds in the group, then flash the car in front of you twice in five seconds - it will trigger a 'please proceed ahead of me' mode which will make the driver steer to either left or right when possible to let you overtake. Same hazard lights trick to make them overtake you when they detect that you veered to let them pass - thus, avoiding typical AI-to-Player collisions. *These are the default controls, but if you don't like them, you can set your desired bindings from the settings tab For maximum naturality, they will also switch positions between themselves, too *when letting a racer take the lead, only IT will overtake - the other two will stay and let you ahead - unless you signal them, too One last detail - on the UI, there are four bigger buttons: SPAWN - press it after selecting locations to spawn the racers START - press it to make them start moving RESET - if, by a low chance, an AI crashes, this button will reset them to their spawn points and you can hit START again PAUSE/RESUME - imagine yourself calling the three racers in a group call - and letting them know you need to pull over to check your engine or something. This button works similar to that - pressing it makes the three racers stop at your command. Pressing it once more will make them resume their cruise. Another little box/slider will adjust the racers' average speed - to your prefference Thank you for reading!
