Box for me, when possible. My kid murdered my favourite Quattroporte last week. Official dealer model by IXO, the original display case was cracked during relocation, so I had it on a shelf in good company. Kid is not allowed in my computer room, guess the cleaner let the door unlocked... Farewell, Mazza. You will be missed.

Yes, most cases open. But my son knows he's not supposed to touch them when encased. The Mazza was left out in the cold and fell victim of my kid...
This is my whole 7-8 year collection: I would have at least 5 more, but I don't know why when I was little, I used to throw them on the walls to see them getting destroyed. Fortunately, I realized how spoiled I acted, and started appreciating their value and the fact that I was even able to have them. If I hadn't destroyed them, I would now have 2 2cv's more, an old 500 and an old Ford convertible....
So I decided to get a convertible just to have had one. Decided to go with an SLK instead of an MX-5 just because I don't think leaving a soft-top out for 3-4 months of icey winter could possibly be a good idea. Before test driving the SLK I was worried it would not handle well enough, being a Mercedes and having a steering box instead of a rack. But thankfully the light weight, rear wheel drive and a manual gearbox made it decent enough for me to truly enjoy. 191HP and 1325kg seem to couple well also. Ofcourse I had to get a 1/43 scale model of it too The model I got from ebay, and it was made by Solido. I will probably buy a 1/18 scale one aswell, but the one I want(made by UT models) is far too expensive and other models didn't seem quite nice enough unfortunately.
