Hello I was experimenting with the new drift spots in Freeroam today and added my own one to West Coast USA. It's available at the bottom of this post, if anyone wants to try it. Just put it in your mods folder as any other mod. Besides the drift spot itself, it also adds blue roadmarkings and signs to indicate the drift spot. You can remove them by removing the "main" folder and the main.decals.json from the file, if you want to. I might add some drift spots to more maps in the future and post them here. Have fun
I've added three drift spots to Italy. They are available as a mod below, once again with changes to the map. I only added start/finish lines and signs. 1. Very hard one through the narrow streets of Citta Vecchia: 2. Easier one near the dam on a mountain road: 3. Very easy one for high speed drifts near Norte: Some more pictures: While testing, I noticed that it sometimes throws a fatal lua error when starting them with a vehicle without a license plate. They work anyway though.
nice! great to see new SPots coming! maybe you could help here, i am trying to make my own drift spots but after i have set them up they won't work, as when i drift through the drift dedection boxes nothing happens, i have set the direction and race file and bound all properly, also the weird thing is that when i reload the level they don't appear in the drift zones editor anymore even if the actual files are still there... am i missing something?
There was a problem were the directional indicators of the boxes (the blue cylinders) weren't loaded/saved correctly. I don't know if that has been fixed yet, but you might want to check that. In short, they are saved with world coordinates, but are loaded in with relative coordinates. So you have to calculate the difference between the box's coordinates and the indicator's coordinates and put that value in the spot.driftSpot.json file under "startDir". Regarding the drift spots not appearing, I think I had the same problem. If they are located in your user folder at /driftSpots/level/spotName you have to move them to /level/driftSpots/spotName, if I remember correctly. I hope I was able to help
yes! i found out about moving it in the level folder, but i didn't notice the position gets not saved correctly. thanks a lot!
