Before the thread completely derail, I will provide you some devs'answers. Having soft body and rigid body mixed together would be a bad idea, see here; This level of simplification also means that when colliding with a simplified car/object, reactions wouldn't be realistic nor predictable (ex : putting an object in another player's trailer would give unwanted results). Also, visual mesh is defined by the jbeam deformations. Vehicles would not appears as damaged as they are. Because the replay app isn't yet finished ? Transmissions are being reworked, and for fluids dynamics simplification is necessary because of their complex nature (devs have also told several times that they might rework it, but it's not a high priority) You defeated the point of thinking, didn't you ? ------- In my opinion the easiest way you be to stream the command inputs to a server that run the physic, then return a video stream. But it would mean a good amount of modification to the client, a new server application, as well as the development and maintenance of these 2 projects. Probably not the best idea too.
i dont know where exactly but im sure you can find it somehow, might be in the devblog regarding the update that brought the replay feature or in the dev section
I can recall this being said. Someone asked if the replay function is tied to multiplayer and a dev responded in the same thread. It wasn't in a devblog because only the devs can write there. My guess would be that it was in the update speculation thread.
that's all you needed to say --- Post updated --- why don't we stop pushing this thread around so a dev can answer this once and for all.
They have. Many, many, many times. Their responses have even been quoted in this thread. What more do you want?
I think this thread is done. stop posting here so someone else's thread can be discussed you win, I was wrong, I give up.
