Holy shit I feel sorry for you. D: D: If I were you I would try to convince them that having a computer is good (plan to built a computer yourself, and say it will teach you some bullshit) or that iPads are computers etc... etc...

Also, did [the devs/mods] remove the age restriction?

    EDIT1:
EDIT2: maybe your GPU is borked
EDIT3: if that is the problem https://youtu.be/bP_8EYQ-2RA

The top end cpus available for your laptop are worse than bottom end available today, upgradability is a null point.

if you hadn't let it overheat so bad then you wouldn't be here. 70c at idle you quoted before, that's overheating already.

My advice, along with others, is to get a new laptop. I got my desktop after 2 years of begging my parents, I had good grades, I deserved it. If you can't beg, make some form of money.

I can't agree enough, that is exactly what I did when I was younger, I had thoughts that I would never have a gaming computer, but after waiting for so long, I was able to buy a GPU for my... horrible... horrible... HORRIBLE computer that was made in 2002. While I went from 1fps in arma 2 at 800x600 to... 15fps in arma 2 at 800x600 I was able to play games that I couldn't before. And it was because I waited for the time to come where I could get one.

But there was an issue, the computer was so old and slow, that when I upgraded I gain so little peformance gains, I could of gotten the same peformance by spending $50 on a GPU over the $300 I paid from b-day money (I was 10 at this stage I know crap about computers XD)

So upgrading your CPU in your 7 year old laptop won't make your computer run any faster, its not worth it, I had to lose my first computer for a second hand one that I paid $350 for, but it was worth it, I was able to play DayZ mod at 1080p and 30fps, compared to upgrading my old computer and playing at 240p and gettinf 15fps.

Save up for a new computer, not new parts for an old computer, it'll cost more trouble than its worth.

    I'll make a video.
I am not completely sure if the computer is dead or not, but afterall, there is a small chance that it is not, but I am still worried.
With my Asus I cant play BeamNG.drive, Team Fortress 2, Rigs of Rods, SpinTires and I cant use the glsl shaders on Minecraft. I could do ALL this on my old Acer Aspire 5920g, most of these at MAX. settings (Rigs of Rods, Team Fortress 2, SpinTires and Minecraft).

Laptop GPUs even on the replaceable ones are not standardised. A replaceable GPU that fits one laptop will not fit another, even by the same manufacturer in many cases. They were never produced as upgrade parts, only repair parts, plus you are looking at a multi generation old piece of hardware.

You might find a 2nd hand one or you might find a 2nd hand one, nor does the Admiesters post actually confirm that is your issue. It is still just as likely that your CPU or motherboard have fried.

Quit clinging on the the ancient hardware and accept you killed it. It was out of date 5 years ago. You have another PC, just use that until you can replace your own.

Then realise the forum age requirement is 16 and that you're damn lucky tdev or whoever hasnt seen that, thanks to some funkiness in the german legal system its easiest for him to ban under 16s than allow them officially and he has done before. Same goes for supernoob, particularly supernoob actually.

so, what sense does it makes that you must be 16 to play BeamNG.drive?
And about the graphics card: I am very attached to that laptop for many, many reasons. When my dad bought it, I was only 6, so that laptop is with me from more than half of my life and it is a lot of time. In 2012 I discovered RoR by typing "free games" and found it with a trojan on another website.
Then discovered a lot about RoR and his history.
I would NOT be here if not of that laptop. it is actually why I am here, typing: I discovered RoR because I was bored with Windows's pre-installed games.
And because of Ror I also discovered BeamNG.drive.
Now I'll tell you what exactly "pushed me" to press that Rigs of Rods 0.37 Download button on an unknown website, and why I liked RoR since the first seconds:

I always had a passion for cars, old cars, but also new ones. I was scrolling down on this website, full of advertizing (I didn't know anything about computers back in 2012) and then I saw a screenshot of a dark green car, apparently looking like a 1970s car: It was the Dodge police car. I wanted to try this game so I downloaded it. One the download was completed, I installed it and waited a long of time, around 20 minutes. On the windows installer I saw a cargo plane with a green truck inside, so I imagined how good the game would be...
A lot of ads popped up during the installation and I leaved the check o the ads and installed another program (accientally). So I installed a trojan on the pc as well! bout I didnt know anything about that. Once the installation finished, I was wondering how to play (it was all in english and and I couldnt speak other languages than Italian). So, finally I press the "Save and play" button in the RoRConfig and started the game. I selected a random map and the RoRbot spawned. It was wierd because I couldnt hear any sound, the sky was black (completely black), but I immediately undersood how to move RoRBot. I got close to the Orange Scania wrecker and tried to get in. I tried many keys, then I foud out that the correct one was Enter. but I didnt know how to drive the truck!!!! I didnt know that I had to start the engine, because in the game there was no sound, then, 2 days after (lol :D) I discovered that to "start the truck" I need to press Backspace! hahahahah no, that's the spawn-in place key ;D, well I discovered X and S about one month later...
So I started to know the game better, better and even better, but didnt know anything about mods...
Then my parents discovered about the "false antivirus" that I installed accidentally and my dad got cross and banned me from the computer.
much time later, when my parents re-allowed me to use the computer, I installed RoR 0.38.67 after I discovered that there was an official website for it.
much, much time passed since, and in 2013, my dad bought an iPad 4 retina and abandoned the computer, saying that computers are old and useless, now this is the iPad era. So the computer finally becamed mine. I didnt liked it very much, often wanted to throw it from the window because it was so slow and, yes terrible, expecially in FPS playing RoR. Much time passed again and, in 2014 I could finally play RoR 0.4.0.7!!!!!! And exactly the day that I tried it, (3rd April 2014) my dad phoned on my old Motorola RaZr V3, he asked me: Do you prefer black or white? I said: White.I asked: Why, is it a smartphone? he said: no, no, I was just asking... 1 hour later, while I was playing RoR on Polder Islands, driving a Gavril Zeta Crawler, I heard him opening the frontyard's gates and parking the car inside the garden.
Then I saw a box. It was an Alcatel One Touch PoP C7! A smartphone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was so happy, very happy!
Then in the evening, 4th April 2014, I decided to register to the Rigs of Rods forum, using my phone, and here I met Fili86RaceFace and finally meet people like Nadeox1 and I was his big fan since much time before...
So I started to enter to the real web...
My laptop represents a piece of my history that cant die right here...
5th April 2015: My spartphone falled into a bootloop. There was nothing I could do about it, but I dried all the possible to "resurrect" it.

You don't have to be 16 to play BeamNG. You have to be 16 to have a forum account. It makes perfect sense because there are adult discussions and open opinions, and we're not here to take care of children. You're fairly mature so you're alright, but I would hope you can see my point.

Anyway, apart from the touching story of figuring out how to play rigs of rods, you opened this thread for help with your ancient laptop. We gave you all the information we could, we think you fried either the GPU or the whole motherboard, but we also gave you the harsh reality of the situation: its probably dead. Everyone hear firmly believes it's not worth the time and money to fix an old laptop.

Also, I try never to get attached to objects, because in all likelyhood they will break - after all, its a machine. Perhaps its time to retire it.

The 16 thing is fairly simple and not for the game itself, just the forums.

Should you go off and get stupid ideas from a forum post and come to some harm IRL as a result, under german law, TDev is responsible for you as a minor. Therefore by not allowing under 16s, he is no longer liable for your safety. Its silly, but the game is german, the forums are german, german law wins out.

That and you can get a little lenient on stuff like adult language/subject matter rather than wasting time moderating an entire forum to PG-13 standards.

Seems your dad is missing 1 critical piece of understanding. An iPad is a consumption device only and entirely useless for productivity or gaming. I would just love to see him complete my uni work on an iPad alone... He'd get through the introduction to an essay before buying a PC.

I exactly know what you mean about the iPad and I agree with you.
But he uses it just for basic things like emails, etc... I asked him to get a pc, many times... There are also Windows 8.1 tablet computers.

I dont understand what you mean.

    - - - Updated - - -

I know that it is dead and I also know why laptops are often called craptops: they overheat.
I'll try to demonstrate to my parents that I deserve to build a desktop computer.
    Thanks

    - - - Updated - - -

I told him that there are 2 kinds of compters, like cars: There are the "eco" ones and the "beast" ones. That is what I found out myself whatching videos of pc building on YouTube. But the topic is my computer, on this thread.

When my HP craptop died somewhat recently, when I turned it on, the screen would stay black, the fan would run for a few seconds, and the caps lock light would flash a few times. Apparently is was an error code basically saying: "Sorry, but you're hardware kind of died...".

I guess we have concluded that this happened to your laptop as well.

In my case, I believe I just need to reflow the GPU, but I would rather not because I don't care about that laptop, and I already gave the HDD away to a friend.

So you're best bet would be to convince your parents that you deserve to build a PC. (Make sure you do lots of research first. I'm sure there'd be people on this forum that would answer any questions you may have as well.)

If you don't get to build a PC, I would recommend this laptop: http://www.amazon.co.uk/X751MA-TY14...F8&qid=1437593775&sr=8-1&keywords=asus+x751ma
(amazon's probably not the cheapest place to get it in the UK, and your location claims to be the UK) There is probably a desktop you could get that's better, but I don't know any great desktops around that price.

Either way, best luck to you whatever happens. :)

Yes, I know that it's the best thing to do. On my Acer I could get (max settings) on Rigs of Rods, driving a Burnside on Polder Islands, not more than 40 FPS and I could not load some terrains on BeamNG.drive (like East Coast) because of my crappy cpu. If I could, there is stil another problem: lagg.
The graphics card is dedicated, but it is rubbish.
My computer in the last year, kind of improved in performance, I mean, doubled the performance and I am still wondering how.
With a custom built water cooled pc, I'll have much, much more FPS and I'll never see that overheating problem again, hoping.
So, yes, better wait than literally "panic" for a dead laptop that is older than half of my life.

I'll move in Italy next week. When I'll buy a new pc, I will not buy a laptop. If I will, I'll buy an Alienware 18 (or 17, it's big :)), but I prefer desktop computers. Maybe I can build my own Alienware ;)

Please not Alienware, please please don't. If your going to get a laptop get something like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NpifmlolFQU . If your going to build a PC (don't get prebuilt) tell me your budget and I'll help you get a good parts list together (on PcPartPicker) that's good for BeamNG.drive and most other games.

It is a good one, but the crazy resolution makes things look smaller on the screen.
    Are Razer laptops good?

Not more than 400, generally. Just somehing enough good to play 3-4 cars at the same time without lagg on BeamNG.drive. I love to drive the Gavril Grand Marshal, but the Framerate on my Acer is always under 10 FPS driving that car.

Ok, I'll try to make a quick parts list aiming for $400. It's 400 USD, right, not EURO or something else? I'll post the link here in a bit :D

EDIT: Do you already have a monitor? If so what resolution?
