That's funny, before I got to read this I had read reviews and already selected that exact case, but thank you anyways. Updated Computer! CPU: AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz 6-Core 110$ GPU: AMD Radeon 6670 2 GB 85$ Ram: A-Data XPG 8 GB (2 x 4) 65$ Motherboard: Asus MicroATX AM3+ 55$ Case: NZXT Phantom 210 40$ 555$
I see you chose it, but I'm running a 210 too, and it's great. I have cables stuffed everywhere in an unholy mess and my 770 and 870 still never fill it's ambient temps. Love the number of fan slots too.
I think this would be a muuuuuuuch smarter build. Better CPU, good enough mobo, pretty good graphics card, just really balanced all around. Plus some 1866 ram because BeamNG loooooves fast ram. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/3B8gn Edit: I coooould save some cash on the PSU but since it powers everything, you dont want to skimp on it.
Remember: "So leave any suggestions for changes below and I will take them into account. Also, I play a lot of other games than Drive, so don't make this perfect for Drive. I just want a computer that runs Drive without getting 25 fps on lowest to low on 720p(What I currently run Drive at... )."
Its not like anythings going to run slower because of fast ram... This is a good all around build and will likely run drive on high 720p, and most other games (AC4, Skyrim, BF4) on med-high 720p
okay, ill try to make a parts list for that. -updated- Are you going to be salvaging anything out of your old pc, or do you still need that to work?
6300 is basically a 3 core. It has 3 'modules' which house 2 cores each but share cache and junk. Plus theyre piledriver cores so meh. Also, no heatsink? Stock AMD is crud. 265 is... well pretty much amd's 750 Ti. Nothin speshul, but steals up more power and emits more heat to do basiacally the same job. Everything else is pretty irrelevant - - - Updated - - - And no... Theyre about the same. For gaming the 760 is a better processor. Not just for drive. And AMD GPU's dont like to load some drive maps and run hotter. Nvidia generally has better user support but thats a matter of opinion, but cant do number crunchy things (mining) as well. Personally Id go 760k and 750Ti because theyre both fairly current. The 6300 is low end at this point.
Give it a rest. It's not "basically a 3 core" CPU. Also, why would you pick out a quad core CPU for him with 4 MB of L2 cache and no L3 cache ?? The 6300 has 6MB of L2 and 8MB of L3. The basis of your statement makes no sense. Stock heat sinks do their job well if you're not overclocking or putting the computer in a room with high ambient air temps.
According to cpubenchmark.net the 6300 is better than the 760k - - - Updated - - - I agree with this statement.
AMD GPUs run hotter ? Where do you get your information from ?? You're a fountain of bull shit. I'm sorry, but someone has to break that to you. Don't even bother addressing me like I'm an AMD fan. It's not even like that. It's just your posts are filled with weird opinions stated like they're well known facts. PS: If a 6300 is considered low end at this point, then the 760k is considered lower end. My CPU, which is nothing special at this point and was introduced in 2009, performs better in games than a 760k. It's because of the L3 cache.
Yet the 760 overclocks better, and has better per core performance. Per core is basically all that matters in gaming as most games are single threaded. In bold, yes. The hell you expect with a $550 pc? But its still better for gaming. You can flaunt around your fancy "OH 6 CORE LIKE 4930K STRONG LIKE BULL" but when it comes down to it, it overclocks poorly, and does single threaded applicatons poorly. The 760, on the otherhand overclocks surprisngly well for the $80 piece of shit it is, and still does single threaded applications poorly, though less poorly than the 6300. And what i said about AMD cards temps only holds true for the higher end, but please, show me an AMD gaming card with a 53 watt tdp. Less power generally means less heat.
lol I love amd cpus and apu's. I know that intel will beat them out but I recently bought an a6 5400k dual core apu...Stock speed is 3.6ghz Turbo boost to 3.8ghz on a $40 AsRock motherboard I managed to hit 4.75ghz stable on a slightly bigger than stock cooler with 50c temps max. its a $50 APU running the built in graphics on 6gb ddr3 1600mhz ram it runs most games with a solid 30fps I sometimes hit 45 in beamng 1080p normal settings with lighting quality to lowest and no AA. so I myself find amd pretty amazing. for what you pay for and what you get...it cant be beat
A6-A10's are all based on the athlon chips. Cause they work amazingly well. A8 6600k (what i run) Is based on the 740k i believe, and its at a stable 4.85 ghz at stcok voltage. These chips are crazy for the money.
