I am using this for so long already. Thank you for all your hard work and thank you for keeping on updating! Very well appreciated. Eleven stars out of ten. Totally missed the november update, downloading now.
I have created TTs for GP Circuit and Short Circuit, including some quite severe track limit penalties ! I hope you can see these at least (accessible from the map).
EDIT: Ok nobody seems to be curious about that, deleted. Another question: Does anyone have black stripes in grass again? Maybe just me. Haven't cleared cache yet. BTW diggin' the new animated entry gates Thanks for this nice little touch
here are the notorious "tyre popper" spots. if you drive slowly your wheels might become "absorbed" in the ground 1. right after hohe acht on the right side of the bmw graffiti you might as well place a tree there because it clips the roof of tall vehicles, as well as it eats any tyres 2. concrete tiling at eiskurve right before the curb is a guaranteed nightmare for anyone taking the right lane 3. you were saying döttinger höhe is pop-free? found one it's before the 130 speed limit sign but after the audi bridge, left lane 4. at the gp's castrol-s corner there is a huge invisible barrier. also somewhere on the right is a tyre crusher the unicycle represents spikestreifen location here i encountered some more but cant consistently make a puncture also after having lapped a few thousand times (about 4-5 usa's or 1 great wall of china) i find that this map really lacks spectators on brünnchen and breidscheid for example. take those at gp parking lot and move them to some vantage points across nordschleife. 2d models wont affect performance surely i can fix this map but i would rather make my own version haha unless edit: also maybe possibly perhaps remove some of the annoying invisible walls or collision at the einfahrt/zufahrt nordschleife? and what about the middle lane ticket barrier? it doesn't look like this in real life anymore. hey i could really improve this map in my free time
Saw this mod thread again and I was just wondering, with the new update coming to Assetto Corsa Competizione, which includes a newer, probably more accurate Nordschleife, is it possible to port THAT map into BeamNG and have it replace this old Assetto Corsa one? I mean, since this one was from 2014, and ever since then they've been gaining popularity and are potentially working harder to create even more accurate maps, I feel it could be an upgrade, even if unnoticeably minor.
This port still has some bugs and a lot of time went into it, I don't think an updated version would be justified
It is technically possible, however due to the nature of the Unreal Engine, a lot of object properties and materials inevitably get lost in the extraction/conversion process. It quickly ends up being a several thousand piece jigsaw puzzle trying to put everything back into place with the correct materials, as I found out when I tried (and gave up) porting ACC Suzuka a few years back. I suspect that's one reason why there are whole modding teams that do ACC to AC backports. AC conversion tools keep pretty much everything intact, and even stuff like shader properties that aren't exportable can be viewed through 3DSimEd. That makes it reasonably simple to just rename and reorganize the track model objects in 3DS Max/Blender from Assetto Corsa's spec to BeamNG's spec, and you'll have a mostly complete track ready to drive on. Thanks, this really helps! Tire poppers are incredibly difficult to spot in 3D editors as anything from overlapping/flipped collision triangles or holes less than a millimeter big are enough to eat a tire node at the right place and right time. Even with several hundred laps under my belt, I have only found a handful of poppers myself, the rest of them have been from community input like yours I will definitely take a look at these areas as well as the invisible walls
Hello, I was so frustrated the Time Trials were not working. But I have find someone to fix it. The post is here : https://www.beamng.com/resources/restored-nurburgring-time-trials.26452/historyImproved You install it like a normal mod. But you will see, the result is not perfect, there is some errors. But at the end, it seems to work for me! And I just did a quick fix in the file of this mod. Because the thing I can't ignore is.. I really want a rolling start (the rounded red option). And it was not present in my defaults files. So I edited it. For that, I did go in his folder And I did add or edited this option "allowRollingStart":true, And like that Not sure it's necessary for the second file, but I still did it, and it's working for me. Don't forget to save your files. And it can be a little tricky because you may need to copy and paste to an other folder to copy them back to the good location, because the files don't allow you to save them. Hope I helped you.
Would it be possible to change it up enough to put it up theoretically? I'm asking because I play over cloud gaming meaning I can only use repo mods.
Wow, great job Thank you for the effort On my side the Time Trial is still working … maybe because I'm still on 0.28
Hi. I also found a tire popper which is really annoying me atm. Its on the inside of T1 of the GP track. 8/10 times i fly over that curb my tire gets flat. I hope this can get fixed sometime soon. i wanted to fix it myself but again no luck opening a .cdae...
