I just discovered Airport Island. Has anybody else seen this map? It has dual runways, which is pretty cool: This looks like a map that could be converted to a naval base should the need arise. It's getting the landing light treatment now, per a request from @Duh anime addict : I'm adding lights for 2 runways, multiple taxiways, the control tower, 4 hangars, 3 helipads, and I'm going to add Italy-style tarmac light towers. I hope this doesn't push graphics limits too far... Are there any other maps that need runway lights?
The advantage is that it's cheaper to repair than replacing the wings of a hyper bolide and you Can make it go faster with jatos. Inconvenient is that it's weaker so i Care a bit about this
...and some more lights added, including the helipads: ...and this is what it would look like in your 7-something-7 just prior to takeoff roll:
Also i seen this Map a while ago . It's actually 1year and a half old or something i have screenshots of it
Hey @HighBeam9000 I have two suggestions : 1.STOL conversion of the fligeon 2.loading ramp for the an-12b
A STOLigeon wouldn't be too hard to build. I'll put that on the list. A ramp for the AN-12 exists as a separate prop, but I think you want a ramp attached to the plane. Like, what if the doors on the back of the AN-12 were one piece, and that piece dropped down like a ramp? That's a good idea, and it happens to be already on my list. Yes, an attached ramp for the AN-12 will be essential to quickly load wheeled vehicles in the back, even while the plane is still moving down a runway.
Only thing i Care about for the STOLigeon is the wings They are made with tissue i think making it the only flying vehicle with "floppy" wings . The advantage with a STOLigeon is that it cost less than two race tires for a STOLide. And About the loading ramp for the an-12b , it's better for mission because you don't have to carry the prop ramp .
I like the showcase video of the ramp for the flat top barge . I Can tell there was effort put in it as it has some texture
We found this just outside a supply warehouse at the naval base: The bomb squad managed to disarm the device. BeamNG.NCIS is investigating this as a terrorist incident. It looks like a standard @CrashHard Explosive Drum, except with a new type of detonator attached to it. We'll send the detonator down to the lab for analysis, but we suspect it was built by @HighBeam9000. We're going to find that dirtbag and haul their carcass down to the station for an "interview". We've dealt with @HighBeam9000 before. This individual has a habit of building various devices and distributing them on an underworld black market known as The BeamNG Repository. This detonator could make it to the black market early next week unless our agents can stop it.
I thought the BeamNG.navy imminent domain'd Airport Island for use as a naval base, but then I saw that UPS is running cargo 747s out of there: The Admiral's gonna be pissed! ...and their planes are too big: Seriously, they don't fit:
I've attached a ZIP with the B747. @Duh anime addict provided the model and textures. I just messed with it a little to get it to appear in BeamNG. It's a static object. You can't pilot it, yet, but maybe someday, maybe.
