I've searched the forums, along with countless other sources, for help with my texture problem but I've come up empty handed. So hopefully someone will be able to help.

I'm new to BeamNG, and LOVE it by the way, and I cant seem to get my custom textures to display correctly on static objects. I created an object using SketchUp and applied my custom texture image with no problem. Even after the object had been exported/imported into BeamNG everything seemed to be working fine. Collisions worked fine along with the textures displaying properly. But after I save my game and re-enter the map all the custom textures either display "NO material" or the images are stretched, baring no resemblance to my original texture. I've been tinkering around with it for a couple days now and still cant figure out how to correct this. I have noticed that under the "Material Properties" window, it says "Unmapped" next to my custom material. Could this be the issue?

Here is an image of the object in Sketchup

Here is the image from BeamNG after the material has been stretched.

I'm sure there is a simple fix to this problem, but I have yet to figure it out. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    P.S.
All the content here created by the community is amazing!! I've had a blast playing around with it!
    Keep up the great work!!!

Errmm... I'm pretty sure you need to UV map the texture to the model. Just applying a texture to a model will tile it infinitely across the surfaces.

I don't use sketchup, so I can't help you firsthand, but you can look up "UV mapping sketchup" or "sketchup texturing"

I always suggest using blender or another professional suite, like maya or 3D max. They're a little harder to get into but once you get the hang of things is really an easy and effective tool

Thank you for the quick response! I'll take your advice and do some more research regarding "UV mapping" and such. But, with this object in particular, that is exactly what I wanted. An infinite loop across the entire object. Is there any reason why it would be stretching it rather than looping it? At one point I got a little agitated with trying to figure it out and did a little button smashing and somehow it fixed it, but only for a short time until I added more objects.
