Okay, so it wasn't recent, it was back in 1997. I was working for a limousine company as an airport sedan chauffer, picking up a client in the San Francisco East Bay, to take to SFO... and while driving to his house, I passed the Oscar Myer Wienermobile-- going in the opposite direction. I had seen it on TV in their commercials, but didn't realize it was a real driving vehicle, street legal for the roads, until that day. I never saw it live and in person ever again, but that was one rare siting. The idea of a hot dog/ bun on frame design still cracks me up!

 

i've always wondered if they're actually more aerodynamic than a normal box truck, and if so what you could get one up to on the Bonneville salt flats.

 

Is that with or without ketchup, mustard, relish, onions, and pickles? ;-)
