That mercedes is my dream car. I actually grew up with them. My uncle owned 4 of them and i loved them all, each of them had their own backstory. It would be amazing to see the 2.5 turbo diesel thats inside my uncles mercedes today inside the s15. It sounds absolutely amazing i would love to hear it again, especially inside an s15.
You can stand to add more detail to the greenhouse shape, specifically the edges around the windows and windshield. Looking amazing so far!
that’s true, the windshield pillar area and generally the roof rn have no detail other then the basic shell. This’ll be fixed once i start solidifying some parts of the unibody(all of the body for now is just one face thick), texturing the roof and pillars, and adding the windows (the black seams around the glass will make it look much less like a low poly shell).
update: -all the body panels are finally complete, I made the boot/trunk and the wing -solidified roof area, still isnt textured -worked on front suspension jbeam: it's based off 200bx suspension (for realism and cause im lazy) rn it acts kinda crazy, im trying to fix it (for some reason some of the nodes are spawning in the wrong place causing chaos)
yeah its too low poly in that picture, i've worked on it a bit this evening so it's a little better now
As I said in the description, there will be aftermarket parts but the quantity will depend on my motivation and I'll start working on them once everything else is done. So yes, there will probably be drift parts and engine swaps. --- Post updated --- also, update: -I've adjusted the shape of the roof a little, It matches the poly density of the other parts of the car a bit better now -I've done some progress on the suspension, I've figured out why things where messed up (I forgot to replace a node name with a different one in two of the rail beams). The suspension is still acting terrible though with beam-braking forces being exerted on the chassis for no real reason, I've been working on fixing it all day to the point where it's driving me mad but I have managed to eliminate some of the forces. I'm hoping I'll be able to fix this in a reasonable amount of time but i can't make any promises, expect atleast a few more days of front suspension work.
update: -good news is that most of the beam-braking stress has been eliminated in the suspension -bad news is that i can't get wheels to spawn in for some reason -I've also added suspension to the blender model (heavily based on 200bx suspension as it is extremely similar to irl s15 suspension)
it's on wheels! -got the wheels working (i legit spent 7 hours trying to get them working and then realised I forgot to replace 2 node names) -suspension acts pretty bad but it works -it steers but it bends the rest of the chassis while doing so -fitment is terrible as you can see -new weird lighting inside the car is cause of backfaces (i'll fix it, its no big deal)
