The Novium FTC In 2005, a small company named Novium presented their first road legal supercar kit at the biggest autoshow in the USA - the Novium FTC. Novium had already made a name for themselves with their affordable and high-quality replica kits of older, rare cars. The first FTC kit was sold in 2006 and included a custom-made tubeframe chassis, a fully equipped suspension setup, a lightweight fiberglass body, and various addons you could buy. However, as a kit car, you need to build it yourself or have it built by a non related company. The estimated build time for the whole car is about 600 hours. The only thing which isn't included in the kit, is the engine. Novium designed the frame to accommodate different engine types, but the most popular choices for the FTC are V8 and V10 engines. Initially, the FTC was only supposed to be sold with the fiberglass body. However, the demand for the kit without the body was so high, that Novium began selling the kit without the body as an option in 2008. They also added a lot of additional parts for the tubeframe itself, including splitters, spoilers, and lights, to enhance the car's overall performance and aesthetics. The Novium FTC was a real competitor to any other supercars at that time and still is a quick car at todays standard. About: After few teasers on Reddit and BeamNG Discords, here is now the official discussion and update thread for my Novium FTC. This is my newest mod i'm currently working on since end of january. Its a Scratch made tubeframe chassis with scintilla suspension. Its my first ever car i'm creating myself and the biggest modeling project i have done yet, but i'm steady learning new things and getting better. Quality is acceptable right now, its already ingame and drives quite well now, but i will work on it over the time and redo and change some already existing stuff to rise the quality. State: Current Features: -Adjustable Custom Front Splitter + GTRX Spoiler -Working Radiator -Dashboard with working gauges, race digi dash and two shifters (currently uses a edited sunburst dashboard, at a later stage i will make a own dashboard) -Fuelcell - Additional adjustable front and rear weight (makes the car handle alot better at low speed) - Body Panels for the Cage (WIP) - Front and Rear light for the Cage - Additional Modification slot with support for my Turbo everything + Highly Customizable Engines (Mods need to be active!) - Engines with models:Scintilla V10 Engine with custom Intake pipes + filters (colorable intake manifold + cylinderhead covers) Bastion V8 Engine (edited colorable cylinderhead covers) with original and custom Intake Manifold + Intake pipes and filters + supercharger. Bastion V6 Engine (edited colorable cylinderhead covers) with original and custom Intake Manifold + Intake pipes and filters + supercharger. Automation V12 (Very WIP) 2, 4 and 6 Rotor Wankel Engines! With working ITB's and spinning turbo wheels Planned Features: - Custom car Body with working doors, openable hood and trunk (at a later stage with customizable options like rear fascia) - Custom Turbo kit models + exhausts - Redo some low quality stuff and adjusting the jbeam - Add function for rollcage panels to fall off individually and the doors to be openable. - More engine types and make the pullys spin - Alot of tweaking and refining the model. - Refining the jbeam for a better crash model (doesn't deform that good yet) Gallery: Support: If you want to support me and motivate me to work more on my mods, you can support me here. Please write your beamng name or discord name in it, i want to thank you personally (little gift) Quick Q&AWill the mod be paid? No, maybe i will add a optional little addon you can buy for 1-2euros to get some small additional parts for it, but more as a thank you when you want to support me and my mods. When will it be released? There is no fix release date. I will work on the mod as much as i can to get a first version released. But i will try to make the mod and the experience with it even better and better. Its alot that needs to be done, needs refine. I you have any critic and/or tips/tricks or suggestions please share it with me and keep in mind, thats the first time i'm doing blender/textures and everything. And i hope the final mod has better textures and everything Have a nice day!
Yes, i wrote it in the planned features. I also started already on it but i think i need to redo it and learn a bit more how to model a whole body properly.
Thanks Alot of time got into it but i'm happy with the progress yet, and driving you own made car is so awesome xD
I thought about how cool it would be to see a Factory Five Racing GTM inspired tube frame car in BeamNG when the Scintilla was released… that thought has came to a reality and there is nothing I’d change about how your doing it! But I saw that you teased what appeared to be a 4 Rotor engine mocked up in the chassis in the MFD discord and I gotta say that would be a really cool engine option that you should seriously consider adding to the mod it puts me in mind of the Mazda 787B and Mazda Furai concept car
I never wrote it anywhere, the lore is quite the same as the Factory Five, but yes it has a lot of inspiration from the GTM. Also started on working on the body but that will take a lot of time. Right now it look like a GTA San Andreas car with bad graphics xD Thanks trough the post i got in contact with someone who has rotary models, so rotary models will come, about the sound I'm currently looking about what to do. But i will get somehow a good enough result --- Post updated --- I don't know what you mean (; xD (Needs still work but it's in-game) And it's really long, i will need to size it a little down to fit it into the car. Initially my idea was only 2 and 4 Rotor, but i added the 6 rotor first into the game for the model author. But i can use it, so why not give a 6 rotor engine option xD
Hey man, Motorcycle engine would be neat in this!! Maybe 2 Stroke, or something like an engine from the R1. Looks amazing already ROTARY. Wasn't expecting that!! Best Rotary sounds are from KJLP, the Zenith Pessima Rotary has the best sounds I've heard personally. Maybe you can request if they'll let you use those sounds?
I will try to consider that. For now i want to add the rotary's and then follow up with more main progress over the car. But would be awesome. I wasn't expecting a rotary neither lmao, now their here xD KJLP uses a hidden rotary sound which is already in the game files. I will also use it but the sound settings are different then theirs, but it's the same file, so it sounds fairly simular for the 2rotor. I maybe will also use the same sound for the 4 rotor first because i don't have any sound for it. Maybe later i will try to add a 4 rotor sound. 6 rotor has custom sound from the engine sim, but i will add a option to change the sound to the stock Beamng 2 rotor sound if someone doesn't like it xD
I got a really funny suggestion, can you make like a 4 cyl engine that looks like it came from a Hayabusa superbike and place it longitudinally? Its really stupid but really cool to see imo
Just a test fit of the 6 rotor. Need to adjust alot of things, like turning the intake manifold and other stuff.
Currently putting a lot of work on the rotarys, so no big progress on the body itself. I have still some ideas to refine the model and then i will focus more on the car again and not only on the engines.
Some progress And yes, the 6 rotor is in a 200bx because Syncy does work on that mod and i will add finished engines to my car, because it needs some scaling to make it fit.
Good choice going with a tube chassis car as a first car mod. Skips the most complicated part of making the 3d model for a car (the body) and can also be done with a simpler jbeam, as they don't crumple quite like your usual car.
