Has anyone figured out how to make paint schemes for the Hopper? I'm trying to do and none will some up in game. Some of the default ones don't even show up on the Hooper.
--- Post updated --- i didnt have time to look into making skins, but if anyone can figure it out, i would like to have an old military skin and an urban camo
Are you talking about the colors in the color picker? I might be able to lend you some advice. I like that rollcage. Is it going to be padded too? As for skins, I could provide something. I've already had ideas of making military themed Hopper skins.
I can work on padding yes if thats something you would like, but it wont be in the beta for sure, maybe in the update. And yes, if you dont mind me using your skins in my mod pack i would really like to have military skins
Okay. And sure, I'm good with you using it. All I ask for is credit. I'll get to work on the skin in a bit.
this is going to be awesome and i would like to see this jeep with 2 1/2 ton rockwell axles and 54 inch tires on it and extend the tires outward to accommodate the huge tires kinda like this
jack i know this is kinda off topic but how did you get the hopper model? because i see you have the model and i wanted to try to model something my self kinda sparked by you doing this but i was going to try to recreate a ford bronco using the d series as a base.
FWIW the jeep you pictured is sitting on 42in tires. In order to fit them, in addition to the axles, it has a comp cut and an extended wheel base. I think it's fair to assume that there are also custom bumpstops and limiting straps in place. Here is the build thread: http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/jeep-hardcore-tech/882928-project-dookeys-revenge.html EDIT: purely for my convenience, here's his personal website as well - http://thedoubleduke.com/
You can find the Hopper's dae file in BeamNG's main files. If you have Steam, go to your Steam files, and you should find it.
That jeep also has raised fenders and a whole host of other mods. On a stock set of axles anything bigger than 35s, especially with lockers is asking for trouble. Not to mention the decreased steering angle to prevent rubbing when turning. As far as comp cuts go, I ended up cutting a full 5" out of the rear of my jeep's body just to clear 33s, and retain a good level of articulation. I also put on axles that are 4" wider than stock to retain my steering angle. Yes my jeep came with 28s, but so does the hopper stock. On a more on-topic note, I have some models of offroad jeep stuff that you could use if you want.
Send me any model you want, i'll see what i can do, im having a lot of trouble finding good models for free
For everyone who told me 44's would never fit. I didn't even cut the fenders yet and it still has the stock suspension... for now.
Dude this is starting to look like a beast, and it's just the beginning! Can't wait to see what else you have up your sleeve. Keep it up!
I hate to be that guy... but nobody said that you can't "bolt up" some 44's. Multiple experienced people mentioned that you can't clear 44's without extensive mods. Your Blender shots just show them "on there"... no steering shots (they won't clear) no rear wheelwell shots (they won't clear) etc. You've already shown in-game pics of 38's not clearing. FWIW you've got nothing to prove here... you say that you're going to do the necessary vehicle mods to make the big tires actually fit, so just do 'em!
I have cut fenders now, if that makes you feel better. --- Post updated --- yes, i have a guy who will try to make his crawler suspension fit --- Post updated --- Last pictures for tonight, might post a beta tomorrow depending on how well jbeam goes. I understand some of you might not like 44's, so they won't be released until the final version. I used them just for demonstration, but the mod should include 38's though if you really want big wheels.
