paid mods my opinion

Ah yes, we all knew this day was coming eventually. The day that everyone is too fed up with Instant Winrar's posh 1840's "good sirs" gibberish and decides to finally let him truly know what our thoughts are.

 

What I noticed is the BeamNG person did not mention the 20$ mesh-slap scams.

 

i'll thank you kindly to pull your head out your ass and stop yapping about the few people who make mods that are worth paying for.

You are more than welcome to enjoy the demo versions of such mods or even simpler, don't download the thing at all.

You worded so eloquently the biggest pile of steaming shite i've read so far this week...

 

Lets be honest, we all wish to sweep this stuff under the rug. This type of stuff happens in many other open-source modding communities as well, in games like Minecraft and Roblox.

Also, what I am mostly scared of about these paid mods, is the lack of the super epic free repo mods. I've seen modders who used to make free stuff, turn their attention to paid mods. This means that those who cannot pay or access these mods for whatever reason cannot access these, Leaving the "lesser quality"(no offense) mods to those of us who cannot pay for the epic mods that used to just be put on the repo. Now it seems only new modders are making major mods for free, and I fear that eventually, they will move to paid-only too. And then leave us "unpaying" players with the "cream of the crap".

(This applies to full car mods, not vanilla or mod addons.)

I said no offense. Unfortunately, it is a sad truth that sometimes some are better than others. I did not say anyone specifically!!!

I was also specifically referring to complete car mods, not extra parts or maps.

 

idk man lets say that a good and well polished mod for this game takes 4 months of your free time to make (very conservative estimate; timescales vary depending on size and content of mod).

That's 4 months where all you've devoted your free time to is making a mesh, a jbeam, sourcing blueprints and dimensions, bug fixing, testing and all the little finicky touches.

would you, or would you not want some sort of monetary reward for that time?

 

KLJP adds the Ibishu pessima zeniths, so it is technically a car mod.

 

I was not saying that currently released mods are a joke, I am saying that what I am seeing happening right now and in the future is concerning to me.

I did not say I was against paid Early Access to pay for the expenses that are now involved, and maybe make a few bucks, I was saying I am against permanently paid mods.

It is my opinion, I respect yours but I am voicing my own opinion.

I read it, I also know of games that take literal years to make that cost 20$ one-time payment. Without extra DLC. I own one that has been worked on for over 7 years, and has no DLC and is still 20$

I am voicing my concern over paid mods, and my opinion may be different, I never said people who buy the mods are rich, I never said I hate them, I never said I would stop them, I just said I do not like paid mods and I have concerns about the topic, and what it may mean for the future of BeamNG full vehicle modding. And yet you are acting like my opinion is trash because your opinion is better. I am not against paid early access either, because eventually, even those who cannot access paid mods, can still get it, they just have to wait a while. I also never intentionally insulted you or free modders. Modders who make free content are still excellent mods (such as SuperAusten64's own https://www.beamng.com/resources/austens-parts-pack.19757/), but they mostly make vehicle addons, maps, skins, and other various odds and ends. I am sorry if you are insulted by what I said, I never meant for that. I simply wanted to express my opinion, and maybe make a change for the better if I was lucky. I respect your opinion, why can't you respect mine?
