If it's a private server and all parties have purchased the product it's fine, but sharing it for thousands of people on a public server is not ok.
This is my personal oppinion about paid mods: A mod should have the basics like fully working interior props (steering wheel, pedals, signalstalk (and shifter if available), a good 3d model and a well aligned Jbeam (it doesnt has to be scratch made but atleasts heavily edited). I think working Glowmaps with bloom, good PBR and own weels arent needed to be mentioned. Custom parts like aftermarket bumpers and stuff like this is also something I would expect. Conclusion: I personally think its a good way to pay someone who has spend a lot of his free-time. As long as the Quality matches my priorities that I mentioned, it deseves to be be paid AS LONG AS THE PRICE IS REALISTIC. yes i have seen people who charged people 250+ Dollars for a mod ( :skull ). Thanks for reading and have a great day!
The only quality paid mods I've got so far is lucas and tonycartony, all others have been mesh slap junk
i haven't got any others than those two and a few of the ones on patreon that don't come to the beamng forums.
i agree with the robot but also my opinion has recently changed to anyone has the right to charge for their work but its up to the buyer to decide if their work is worth our money and if we don't think it is we just don't buy it but still refrain from pirating it
You should get @LJ74 ’s, they’re really good! Like, his Signia is one of the highest quality vehicle mods out there, official, mod, or otherwise!
I'm fine with paid mods for the right price, but I think if they post it on the BeamNG forums they should be required (or at least highly encouraged) to post a free demo version so people can make sure the mod is high quality before they buy.
only buy mods when they really high quality like ibishu signia or civetta mondello --- Post updated --- thats it
You're telling me someone charging 3 dollars for a dev quality mod they made from scratch is greedy? Edit: didn't look at that comment's date lol
yeah lol my opinion has changed since 2 years But I think we can all agree it is still greedy to charge $15 for a crappy meshslap
Paying good money for anything that's sub-par quality is something we should reject as consumers. What we shouldn't forget is that the existence of poor quality, high priced goods doesn't invalidate the existence of good quality, reasonably priced goods. People who use the fact that those horrible Patreon meshslaps exist as an argument against paid content as a whole are completely missing the point.
some of the best mods are payed like the signia, picnic, dfa i have not tried the mondello yet but maybe
they aint workers just keep the optional donate button and if people think you deserved to be paid you will
