I edited an already existing skin for personal use because I have no knowledge of modding what so ever
When I installed the mod I could select the skin from the parts menu
then I edited it saved it in dds didn't touch the name or anything still it isn't appearing on the parts list.

Did you edit the name of the skin image?

If you have replaced them all with my, you with have to change the names in the materials.cs file. You can post that here, if you want, for us to do it. Also, did you keep the original dds names and put my_ before them.

I think you should use a better name for your skin. Probably the "my" name used by another before. I have an advice for you: always write your user name in your skin name or globalskin or whatever you want to make, something like this, use it and see what happens.

It has to be called materials.cs not materialscs.cs
