Went to Motofest in Coventry over the weekend, not bad considering it's free to enter for visitors. I tried not to create too big of a photo dump, so here's only a few of the better shots.
The US style police cars were a nice surprise to see here in the UK. There were actually two Furys, which both me and my brother initially mistook for a Dodge Monaco. A few odd ones to me, besides a good amount of Crown Vics, Chargers and Explorers, were a Mercury Sable and a worse for wear Plymouth Acclaim.
I have a Greenlight model car exactly like that Gran Fury, and I had forgotten about the Plymouth Acclaim's existence. The Sable is cool.
Going to a local car show, not many here, about one per year , if that...lol...and just getting some close in Photography of this Imapla and Harley as trying not to get spectators in which is always a challenge
Some people don't like '58 GM products because of the facts they're just covered with chrome, but I disagree.
--- Post updated --- Yes again, I old school, like shiny paint and Chrome Many moons ago I photographed clients cars and did some Cartoon Caricatures for them using my actual Photographic data.. Spent approx 8 hours in Photoshop....now it's done in a few seconds online with AI...lol Below is my procedure of how I did it, although this was a test first doing it with a screenshot to see if it was possible Some finished car Posters from my Photographs
I had a large spare room in my place of residence and along with that had a real interest in 'Still Life' studio photography, setting up a still life placing / arranging lighting for the right effect. Below is a still life I worked on when 'Film Negatives' was still a thing, before Digital...lol. I purchasing the Rock Melon, Peaches and even the Dried Leaves etc, Painted up a Backdrop and spent hours setting this up with 'Soft Box' lighting. Used a 'Mamiya RZ67 Pro2' with a 'Polarod Back' to test exposures first before attaching the back loaded with 'color film negative' then swapping the color film back over to the back loaded with 'Black and White Negative Film'. I had a 'Dark Room' in my place of residence so was able to develop and print my own 'Black and White' prints back in the day. Below is the final 'Still Life' photograph....called it 'Rock Melon' with the Mamiya Camera used. Fast forward to present day Digital has taken over Film Cameras for the most part and while all my 'Film Cameras' have been sold, including the above Mamiya. I still have to this present day a small 'Canon Powershot G7X' which still had good image quality for a small image sensor. Below is a 'Still Life' I set up using 2 different light sources, one exposing a long 15sec open shutter speed with a 'LED Torch' to paint the still life with light. Getting the 'Lightning' type effects at the back by pointing the Torch at the camera lens, moving it rapidly up and down 3 times....trouble is this procedure is hit or miss and it was approx 15-20 attempts to get this final image....thank goodness for Digital...lol Below is the same shot exposed with a Studio Flash and Soft Box for the main light and the background Flash with a Snoot attached to get that beam of light on the background, using the same Canon Powershot G7X
