Thats the preorder for the final game though and most people will buy through steam since its needed anyway. Its not on sale on their homepage either, they just put lines through the prices so you can feel like you're getting a good deal. Either way its alot cheaper than BeamNG is.
I agree on the first part, but the Techdemo seriously needs to be updated. The techdemo ran like crap on my computer, but the full game runs pretty quick on my PC. I have friends who decided against getting the game because the techdemo was slow.
Yes now, not back then when I checked previously as I wrote, I checked maybe a month ago or so, so yes, I was checking right game. Don't know about Steam, I don't generally like Steam and I would not have Steam if BeamNG would of required it, maybe they rarely have full prices up and I just happened to check when they had. Anyway, to show why BeamNG is special, why people should buy it : --- Post updated --- Hmm, that is true of course if it runs slow on people's computers. I had i3 without dedicated graphics and I did not notice it running particularly slow, what I noticed was that car actually drove like a car and broke down like a car, which was instant win.
Same situation here, but my friends think otherwise. They want a Playable game, and the techdemo isn't a good example (mostly the graphics and framerates)
T tried wreckfest and it is not as near as deep as beamng drive... There is no compedition at all because Beamng drive is a realsitic very variable car simulation with many many different scenarios and open worlds to explore, wreckfest is really just destroying and nothing more. The car driving is not realisitc like within Beamng drive, the destruction is not bad, but within Beamng drive it feels much better, dont know why exactly.(maybe the softbody) In my opinion Beamng gets never old because driving cars dont get old. So some additions like I have posted would top it off.(espcially wet mud) Also many many new cars It really should go its own way what it is: a hyper realistic car simulation.
You want a lot of new cars... Well, you can get tons RIGHT NOW!!! And Maps! And Configs! And Anything you could imagine!!! Just go here: https://beamng.com/resources/
Also if compared to Spintires, in BeamNG cars seem to have much more proper mass and dynamics, but I think best way to show BeamNG is to show what variety you can do in it, especially with mods. Spent more than hour doing this yesterday:
Yes I like it too! There are some offroad scenarios I like, especially the one with the hopper in utah, please try this one! It is very difficult, but so much fun! One of the best offroad missions I ave ever played in any racing game because it is a mixture between a puzzle and a dynamic compedition to be as fast as you can! (dynamic puzzles are very rare in games...) I dont use mods because I just want to use what the developers give us. Bugging into objects like trees happpens too fast so the problem is a problem if I go offroad...
In real life, slamming a tree is like hitting a brick wall. If you're hitting the trees, try another route or, more importantly, practice!
I know, he meant smaller stuff, which is decision between soft bush and hard object, is current size choice best possible compromise or something along those lines I guess. Now with Hopper perhaps we could more size limit of soft vs hard bit upwards?
It is note even the big point... the big point is, that I bug into trees and bushes very fast and it stucks through the car but without damage and I cannot move anymore... This is more a buggy thing than a feature thing. Beside adding the feature of destruction, it should be fixed.
Personally, that has never happened to me in game, was this on a modded map? Because if so, tell the developer of the map instead
Here is one example with a tree, but I have also examples with bushes and other objects, but the issue is basically the same. --- Post updated --- Here is the same issue with a bush, but you cannot see it as clear as with the tree... ...so offroading with many plants is not possible as it could be. It is a pity because there are many good offroad areas to discover!
No this is not the point, it is the point that I stuck within the trees, there is a wrong collition and I stuck within the trees and bushes, which is a glitch. Beside this issue, destroying objects with a certain speed would a dd a huge improvement and for performance it could happen just within a certain radius around the car.(everything outside the circle is not more damaged, the same as how mud traces could be managed)
