Thank you! It took me quite a while trying to figure out how to make the images appear correctly on the inner and outer lights.
There's always the vanilla taxi signs. The Burnside has a pretty similar taxi sign. It's a bit different but it would probably work.
Sorry I haven't been updating this mod for a while, just taking a break for Christmas. I assure you I will come back to this soon though.
Been meaning to say this, but I'm pretty sure I posted this in the wrong place. I was actually supposed to write all this in the content creation. Not mods and skins. Just saying this so anyone who was expecting a full-blown Cadillac mod doesn't get confused. Sorry for the inconvenience, I am aware of this mistake.
Not familiar with that term but it is going to be a full car eventually. The only thing that it differs from in a typical repo mod is the Jbeam structure, as I don't really want to, nor have the time to do that. It's pretty much going to be an averagely detailed model on top of a pre-existing car's wheels & engine (AKA the Gavril Bluebuck) if that's what you mean. The Jbeam structure is already lined up relatively well, and crashes good. I'm keeping the roof Jbeam because I want to see if I can make a roofed version. The rear bumper Jbeam extends a little too much, but rear collisions turn out fine. This is a front collision at about 30 mph. This is a side collision at about 30 mph (The car above T-boned this one). Remember as I have said to insure people wouldn't be surprised if they think it isn't of the "best" quality, I am only a beginner and this is my very first non-automation mod. So I still tried to make the crash physics look good, but since that isn't my best suit, I wanted to make the detail look prettier so people would be more forgiving.
It does not look bad at all for a first non-automation mod if I'm being completely honest with you. Also, I'm sure someone on this site is more than happy with helping out if you do need help with the jbeam. From my layperson perspective, tho, it seems the Gavril's jbeam actually lines up pretty well. Especially considering it's your first "real" mod. And the deformation looks pretty on point for a car of that era.
Yeah, I've gotten most of the main stuff done and now it's just mostly details. And even after release I'll be updating so there's barely a need to rush progress.
That's true, but I also need to be realistic. Some stuff might just be too small or hard to complete before release, so I'll fix it gradually in updates. Don't let this make you think that I'll put out a crappy, incomplete mod because I'm getting lots of the main important stuff done and even some smaller features and details, but I'm just saying that I wouldn't want to keep the "public" waiting for something they might not even care for. Also, here's some work I got done while I'm at it. -Almost all of the interior (Just the rear seats and the rear side panels) And I'm also experimenting with customizable skins (different than customizable paints as you see here) so I can hopefully get rusty and two-tone skins.
I can think of at least five different two-tone paint jobs for this car, be sure to include all of them!
Oh yeah, I'll have to take a look at the stock paint jobs for this car. Maybe give me some pictures for paint jobs you'd want to see or know that they were avalible on the car. Unfortunately, I do not know how to model. I just got this model for free, and it only comes as a convertible. But a sedan is what I'm trying to experiment with, because the Gavril Bluebuck has a roof that while it may not be similar or accurate to the real car, it just might be able fit on top of the model.
I love the idea of this car and it looks beautiful from the pictures, but when the base car is finished you should make a Ghostbusters Ecto-1 version of the Cadillac The car now looks great, keep up the good work!
