Why I'm getting error from link to your mod, is there some forum bug around? Moderators moderate, administrators administrate, I think rest of us should be having fun. Anyone has ideas how to get less rebound travel and more compression travel for D-series rear suspension?
Ya'll are childish, this thread was to discuss the new system, it's not to bring forward all your stupid discrepancies with other users. Report and move on.
So I came up with a WIP algorithm to determine if a user should be in the "trusted" category. Keep in mind it is very WIP, and is just a suggestions. Code: Variables: goodTotal = Friendly, informative, and useful badTotal = # times been reported + warning points *25 mssgCount = # of messages dateJoined = Subtract current date from date joined (in DD/MM/YY form) userRating Algorithm: (mssgCount - goodTotal) / badTotal Notes: How to get dateJoined used? I don't have access to # reports, change multiplication freely I used only friendly, useful, and informative because you can easilly get likes and funnies by spamming Community Screenshots Test: User BombBoy4 goodTotal = 220 badTotal = ? (but let's assume 2) mssgCount = 1611 dateJoined = 14.07.02 (1611 - 220) / 50 27.82 is BombBoy4's userRating
Why remove all groups, though? I can understand why you would want all unnecessary groups removed, but groups can serve a purpose on this forum. This is coming from a person who is a group moderator for #BeamNG Racing Championship, a group about autocross racing. Would groups like that have to be removed, too? Or is it groups like alex_333's mod group that annoy you, and you wish to be deleted before becoming active again? I completely agree with every other point that you brought up (which is why I rated it Agree rather than Disagree), and I understand why groups that encourage people to post terrible mods semi-privately would discourage you from modding slightly, but why would you want all groups deleted?
Good, as the Beam forums are awful enough as it is, we don't need those goddamn groups. Go make a Discord or something for your arr pee and shit like that.
Exactly. Keep the Beam forums free of stupid shit like RPing and all that, plenty of other circlejerks places to do that.
Shoot, now I’ll never have any ratings to show for myself if I only get em from people who actually like quality content.
Hmm.... I like the idea of post reporting and no leaderboards, but would like to be able to search up members. I also don’t really care for the disagree rating because it could cause some big problems. As for the friendly rating, is that really needed? I also don’t want groups to be deleted. Some of them have really good uses. As for shortening the signatures, sure why not I guess. Doesn’t matter to me too much. For the whole “trusted members and Super Likes” thing, Im not a huge fan. Could cause some problems.
Could we ever get the "interesting" rating? That's one I've wanted for a while. --- Post updated --- @tdev , will "Trusted members" get any other privileges besides "Super Likes"? Just wondering what their other uses might be.
No, I want to know what special privileges said members will get. Tdev has already stated that community moderators WILL NOT HAPPEN. I would like to know more about these members because it might have a substantial impact on the forums as a whole.
