I can understand why people like the LOOK of cars like that, the main reason I hate them is just not only does it ruin handling(even more so if the springs are just simply cut...) but more so because it seems like it would interfere with driving or moving it almost anywhere. Want to drive it on a road? Enjoy scraping your bumper when it leaves the driveway... or when there are bumps or inclines in the road, not to mention how hard it would be to get in and out of and how awkward it feels to be as low to the ground. That's a big problem I have with most NORMAL cars, can't imagine what it would be like in a lowered car. Even as a show car having it lowered seems like a huge inconvenience as you'd have trouble getting it on and off a trailer and the bumpers would be really likely to be damaged.
And people like me wonder if a lowered car even HAS stiffer suspension or if the normal suspension was just shortened the budget way... as in just cut with a hacksaw or something.

Since cut springs have the same spring rate as the stock springs, but with less suspension travel, they will make your car scrape 90% of the time.

We had a nightfire red vitesse hatchback. Very quick and flat through the corners. Reliable too bar a broken radiator and airbag ecu. We fixed the ecu but misdiagnosed the radiator as a head gasket failure and sold it for spairs :/ Lovely car

Why not fix the head gasket? Surely it's an easy task, especially with a honda engine :D

It's not a Honda engine though. The vitesse had the rover T Series turbo, while the 2.7 V6 was honda. Anyway, we couldn't do it ourselves as we hadn't the time or tools. A mate quoted us £700 to do it and that was too much. We ended up selling it for £300 to someone who fixed it by just replacing the radiator. A real shame :/

Same engine as my Coupè. Same fault, mine was scrapped after a head gasket failure. Repair would have costed me more than the car was worth, so to the junkyard where it belongs it went.

Well that sucks. Now I want to buy a crappy rover and do the head gasket myself :p

Depending on where you live, that might be a fairly easy task. As far as crappy goes, pretty much any Rover will do.

True, but I think the new minis are all slightly ugly.

I actually like them, but I also think the new Prius is kinda dope.
Feel free to judge me and the fact that my profile pic still is an R-Type Continental.
