Gabester, I know you might not be sure about pricing. But there are people that can't afford this game if it where to be $60 to $100 like some programs. So I was curious if you were thinking of instead if selling the game for a lot, sell the game away for cheap (more people can buy it that way) and just sell more cars individually for the majority of the profit?
I'm betting on $20USD in alpha, 60USD in full release. EDIT; You know, us saying this hikes the price. If they know we are willing to pay 60 dollars then they'll price it at 60+. If we say it'll be worth 20, they'll price it at 20+. I think this is only worth about $0.99. But it will be worth 60+ anything less will be a steal.
No one would pay $60 for a new generation Rigs of Rods. Without a ragdoll character system and constraints in the physics engine for articulated vehicles, cranes and winches i'm not sure even it's worth $20
I was thinking like $10 USD. Comes with like 8 or 9 cars. And every car after that is $1 USD. - - - Updated - - - That's the thing. It's not ROR. Rigs of rods is cryengine. And this is beamng. Which is on torque3D. They are similar. But very different.
Rigs of rods has it's own engine, it has Ogre3D for graphics, Hydrax for water, Caelum for the sky and Pricorde's beam engine for the physics. Believe me or not BeamNG is new generation Rigs of rods and a lot of rigs of rods features are missing in BeamNG. It's only a car simulator, and without a ragdoll system or simply character system, some kind of ghosts are going to drive cars in beamng
No, but at least it has a character moves freely in the world and enters vehicles. Without ragdoll system and rigidbody dynamic objects I will continue to say BeamNG is new generation Rigs of Rods with cropped features.
RoR never had rigid body dynamic objects nor did it have ragdoll physics. I fail to see how omitting these makes BeamNG worse than RoR. Also, if you don't mind, we're concentrating on the VEHICLES (since, you know, this is a vehicle simulator) rather than wasting hundreds of hours on modeling, texturing, rigging, and animating a character and having it fit to every possible seating and steering wheel configuration and animating it to use the various controls while reacting to physical forces. There are more important things to focus on.
Go play RoR then? Bye? Such a silly thing to say considering how frustrating RoR is on so many aspects.
Do I need to spell this out for you? We are simulating vehicles. Chassis, suspension, wheels, body panels, etc. Ragdoll physics do not enter into the equation of simulating a vehicle. Would you rather we stop everything and halt all progress so we can spend several months getting ragdoll physics in the car to work? Just pretend they're remote control cars and stop repeating yourself. As for the original topic: We have not announced any pricing. Stop asking.
