I think it would be nice to have a "transmission" that takes multiple inputs (for example an electric motor, a generator and a gasoline engine) and makes an output to a normal transmission. Multiple engines require a custom controller, so it would also be nice if there was a prewritten controller for hybrid vehicles. It could be configured in the engine jbeam, with parameters such as engine-on and engine-off throttle threshold, battery charging strategy, battery state of charge limit, etc.
