did you deactivate every mod in your mods folder and followed the instructions to the T? others are having sucess. Follow the instructions perfectly, also, make sure your mods are all deactivated. if not try cahe files or even checking integrity, this mod goes trough a insane testing process for textures before i even think of releasing it. only models with no textures should be the ones i point out in my notes at the beginning of this thread. this release should be in mods\unpacked not in mods after extraction. should have 3 folders at the moment. (levels) (Metropolitan) (ProjectJ) inside unpacked folders, by itself. you can experiment with couple more mods over it but it is a very delicate folder structure, you even change a dot its all over. wait until it is a total convertion, it will be like 30 gig download. of course you don't have to but you will missing out on some 500 km of amazing map. its getting good in the kitchen. you suppose to start with no mods at all for this one and add one at a time after following the instructions on the first post. precisely. you got it. Hello everyone, sorry for been quiet these past couples of weeks, i have been working very hard on this project and it is only myself. The map is coming along very beautiful, bigger and better looking than the first version. the new version will only keep 6 maps from Nihon mods every other one has been swapped for a better quality and optimized version. many fixes have already been put in place. (annoying black patches along routes, 3,4 and 5. also have fixed few other things like invisible walls on Kobe. had to resize a major portion of the map since Nihon didn't have it properly resized. currently finishing up adding some new areas and figuring out some textures. final speed optimization wont happen until at least 2 or more releases, need to arrange everything first then after no more swapping in and out models, debugging col ground, fixing alpha channels, then i can start to really get into just focusing on optimization and then the last update would be lighting and proper reflections. No the project is not one of them that will die as far as i can breath and my computer don't blow up. This is a project i have a lot of passion for not just some random idea. Main thing i am going to have to battle is the size of the folder, it is a game in itself at this point, is the only way i can get the quality i am getting. i am also keeping close attention at how many unpacked mods is normal for beam as having more than suggested starts actually breaking the game and the mod. Stay tuned guys, we are getting closer to a new version of the map. Got some surprises on the map. Have a great day ya'll.
ur mod blow my pc to smithereens still, very good map, hope you continue to optimize it in the future!
Hi, I followed all the described steps and there was no way to make it appear inside the game. I tried several times paying close attention to the steps and it didn't work. I imagine it will be in the repository later, hopefully. Large maps seem like the best to me. The map looks great. Regards.
I had trouble with it but eventually it showed up after some cache cleaning and relaunched. I haven't even removed the Shuto expressway mod!
I did turn off all mods before installing it and once it had been installed I turned them back on. Should have clarified that.
yes i should have, i apologise. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hello guys and gals, sorry for no updates had the stomach bug for 3 days, then started back working on the project, here is a couple teaser pictures. Picture on the left is a imported version of Yokohama Like A Dragon map (credits to original extractor/creator) with the Metropolitan Expressway in the background, yes you can actually get off the exits and back on to this area. Picture on the right is Nagao Touge overseen Nagoya and the Metro. Like i said before, most all older versions of the Nihon mod maps in this mod have been swapped for better versions. Stay tuned guys.
I need to correct my previous comment. I followed the instructions to the letter before and it didn't work, but I found out it was due to game issues unrelated to this mod. I did a clean reinstall and now it works perfectly. Great job, thank you!
it is in there already, it has to be connected differently in this mod, same area different exit, like a detour. i am trying to loosely put together Japan around the Metropolitan Expressway map with other maps without ruining itself, the metro is the foundation for the mod.. textures are a pain to get perfect and actually save on imported maps done in this manner, them json files you know. the model of the metro mod is better smoother for BeamNG. so i have to adapt everything to it, not a easy task. Next update will be more easy accessible, had to build a entire tunnel portion by hand. Glad you got it working. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tease getting crazy
The mod cards are not working, I don't see them in the main menu. Can you tell me what I'm doing wrong? I downloaded the zip archive, unpacked it, went to the folders, and then copied the three folders to C:\Users\ratnik\AppData\Local\BeamNG\BeamNG.drive\current\mods
deactivate all your active mods first then copy them to your unpacked folder inside the mods folder. Once they're in the folder clear your cache with the support tools option. Once its all put on you can reactivate any mods you had before
I did so, but I don't see the map, the other mod cards are visible immediately, and I noticed that more than one unpacked mod is not visible to the game at all, but in the zip He sees the map at least in the repository, but there is no map selection
are you sure you put it into the unpacked folder not just the mods folder? If thats not it, the only thing i can think of is that the download is wrong and you need to redownload it. Try again and use the install instructions in the readme as close as possible
The mod just doesn't work, literally everything works for me except this, I don't understand why the mod needs to be unpacked, this is nonsense, I don't have one unpacked mod, I definitely need ZIP, in general, I do not know how I would not be a noob to install, but I really thought there was some kind of algorithm possible correct, but it's just a dummy --- Post updated --- Honestly, I have already downloaded all the mods and each one worked and did not require unpacking, if I throw a zip, the game sees it in the repository, but there are no maps in the selection, if I unpack, there are no maps in the repository and there is also no map selection. Whatever mod I don't download, all the official mods are checked in a zip file and each one works perfectly. --- Post updated --- Okay, that was unexpected, now it's clear.
oh wow this is a late ass reply lol. Around Route 3 it got way too laggy so I dropped it to high graphics instead of ultra, but once I got a bit further from the C1 it levelled out and i got 150+ fps in some spots while still on high. Once i was deep into the nihonturismo part of the map it was perfectly fine. I'm guessing that traffic is almost impossible on my test pc so i haven't really tested it, but any pc with a better CPU would be fine as mine is a huge bottle neck, (i5-12400f - 16gb of ram - 10gb 3080 FE). Overall for the very first unoptimised release it runs pretty well even on kinda less than average hardware.
