not sure if that is already planned or been discussed, but it would be really nice to be able to give a few degrees of angle for the steering; for drifting of course.
My racks have more range then default racks.. but more development is required to achieve proper drift racks. It is in my sights.
Been slowly working on my Turbos. I-Series is done in this regard. Working on 90's Pessima and 200BX Turbos next then I have to polish configs and fix it all up. Apologies for the slow progress, I'm trying to keep myself from reaching insane burnout.
I really just gotta do some graphic design work and consider revising the 200BX Turbos if they're not as good as my other ones I just made, then fix all my config files and gear up for a release of the 200BX 90's Pessima and I-Series with all the new features and such.
One thing that sucks with the white background using my method of configuration thumbnailing.. is I get this odd lighting going on. If you look in the backdrop it looks like a pair of curtains in the background of the image, which doesn't appear in the black thumbnails. (old image) This looks awful, and my logo would pop better on a black backdrop, which leaves me really undecided on what the heck to do with this.
Still having this issue with no real explanation or suggestion from the modding community as to a solution. Light Background Dark Background --- Post updated --- This looks pretty annoying.
I will have to repair my Lua since the update broke it. I think I know what I'll need to do but I just wanted to let everyone know that I'll need to do this before I can release v0.901 Beta
Most relevant Lua has been repaired. I need to update my legacy Lua for internal development on new engines later. Most important to release I have to fix the following bugs and issues, followed by development on thumbnails and configs. Custom I-Series interiors have no steering wheels. Custom I-Series Interiors might need some interior muffling coefficients after the update. Custom sounds and exhaust stuff need revisions as now they have insanely bad bass at idle and weird volume issues. Need to look into: Steering Racks might be causing loss of FFB, cannot confirm. --- Post updated --- Also need to fix the I-Series DTM parts so they open and shut, that might not happen until a future update though as it's simply not on my agenda among so many far more important things.
Remade DTM Main Chassis. [I-Series] Weight reduced to 1205Kg - 1225Kg for different RWD variants.. reduced a fair bit of weight and fixed issues caused by the update. Panels still don't operate with open/closing on this chassis for now.
I think I've confirmed the FFB bug is BeamNG and not my mod. It would seem me alt-tabbing can cause the FFB to bug when returning to the game again. I can confirm this is a BeamNG bug that I am experiencing with/without stock content.
6hrs of reinventing the wheel later. I have this concept photo room wip. It requires everything being done by hand, but yeah. --- Post updated ---
My FFB issues have been resolved. Specific to my rig and the new update to BeamNG causing me issues. Thanks to one of the devs stepping in to inform me that my ancient hardware got a driver update, lol.
I am so sorry for the extremely slow progress all the sudden, if it seems like the project is just going at a snails pace rn I'd like to apologize. I've been super busy and all the work I have on the mod is the tedious and unfun portion of modding. I am also worried my lack of content, going for refinement over quantity will leave people unsatisfied with what I've got so far. I am trying to get the I-Series out soon at least then fix up my other content for release soon after. I really wanna diversify my content here again and get some other cars back in the picture. It's just a mountain of work.
Here is a Temporary Download for "preview_v901b" - April 18th 2023 ~ Updated with a hotfix for missing files This Contains Only The I-Series Overhaul in it's current state! I apologize again for delays. This is basically a snapshot of my best work which I hope to reach/surpass with many car overhauls in the future.. ..I plan to work on getting many cars out at once, then go back and refine them slowly in updates. Even the I-Series has future plans to eventually come way down the road. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Readme Sorry this isn't an official release either, please delete previous versions of the Projekt Drive mod. Alternatively you could open your current Projekt Drive zip file... import the lua, then delete the ekti folder and completely replace it with this one. additionally add the content from the "common" folder inside vehicles.
Why do you say "only"? This is fantastic! You have singlehandedly rejuvenated the I-Series! I never really could relate to the I-Series because the vanilla cars felt a little lifeless and numb. Now, with the new engines and the new suspension, not to talk of the custom body-parts, it suddenly became one of the best cars in BeamNG, certainly of the older cars without Traction Control. Even the AWD cars feel good (and can help with controlling handling). I can´t praise this enough and I am very glad to look forward to the next week when I can explore each configuration in depth! Thank you! It was worth all the time you invested because in the end, we have a near-perfect result!
Thank you so much! It makes me feel great knowing someone cares this much about the content I've made here.
