I have to agree with this too, ultimately this is a game and so some creative liberty can be taken, Gran Turismo 7 for example actually seems to simulate tyre rubbing, and I hate it because when I put some nice wide wheels on my BNR32 and drop it to the ground it no longer steers on sharp corners (because tyres are rubbing on fenders i guess) I mean having your car self destruct after 5mins because you put 17x9 rims on a 200bx would be a laugh but yeah I would ultimately consider that an un-quality of life
It could have a check in the code to make sure the car has the appropriate couplers, and if the car doesn't have such couplers (e.g the C-series or the 90s K-Series/other), it doesn't enable the feature.
This is in Edit -> Toggle Mute Game Audio. Not sure if it was always there or just added recently, anyway it's great.
I have an idea about automatic transmissions: adding an "Automatic Transmission Protection" feature specifically for automatic gearboxes, for preventing you from downshifting too many gears on Manual mode and destroying the engine from overrevving unless the revs drop below a certain threshold by themselves, would be great and, also, 100% realistic. I say this because when the existing feature for protecting the engine is turned off, then the automatic transmission cars are exposed to the same exact overrevving risk, turning it off makes no discriminations. I, therefore, think there should be two protection features, one for manuals/sequentials and one for automatics/semiautomatics. --- Post updated --- And, also, 1/2 mile, 1 mile, 100-200 km/h (62-124mph), 100-300 km/h (62-186mph), 200-300 km/h (124-186mph) and 0-250 km/h (155mph)! --- Post updated --- Nope, the brake shoes are enclosed in the drum, so they aren't affected by water. Only poor heat dissipation (for which drums are notorious) can break them. --- Post updated --- Also, dearest devs, please bring the BeamNG logo back to the front page of the official vehicles/props selector. I mean, it helped many of us tell the official cars/props apart from the mods, just like it still does on the variant selector page of each official vehicle, so why did it disappear from the front page?
Having played a bunch of GtG delivery scenarios recently, getting frustrated with AI being big dummies very often, I thought of one little feature that could potentially help players whom are using a controller, keyboard or steering wheel with just paddle shifters. This feature would add the ability to quickly jump to Drive & Reverse gear from another gear on automatic/DCT transmissions (especially the latter) by holding the respective button for 1 second instead having to go through the gears one-by-one if you wanted to e.g. reverse your car. If you're driving on your wheel & have a H-shifter, you can quickly jump to each of the gears by simply putting the shifter into the respective gate (D, R, P, N or M1), which is something that is not possible by just pressing a button once. This is most helpful for DCT where you cannot go to Drive of Sport mode by simply pressing a button while being at speed as that action over-revs your engine to hell & back, so what you currently need to do is to slow down to where you can shift into M1, go down a gear or two & then you're on your way to cruise by being able to select Drive. My idea would speed up this process & would be available only for the Shift Up & Shift Down key binding, which in turn would make it work with every device other than a H-shifter. Also, for GtG scenarios, having the ability to see again the name & photo of the vehicle config you're currently driving by pressing Esc button to bring up the overview of the scenario would also be a good addition
