This is a highway desert map for BeamNG. It’s not a ultra detailed project — it’s one of the first maps I made while learning map modding, so don’t expect top-tier quality. The main focus here is simple: driving fast and weaving/cutting up through traffic. Because of that, there aren’t any hidden roads or off-road areas to explore — it’s a straightforward highway loop built for cruising and traffic gameplay. What the map includes: Full AI traffic support 4096x4096 Terrain 3-lane highway 2 gas stations that are used as spawn points A few houses placed around the road to make the environment feel less empty Good optimization, so you can spawn more traffic without killing performance If you want a better traffic experience, I recommend using this mod from the official BeamNG forum (it improves both optimization and traffic behavior): Agent's Simplified Realistic Traffic Mod (EU + JP released) The map is completely FREE — just join as a free subscriber on my Patreon to download it (no ads, direct download). DOWNLOAD Update version 1.1: Added a second road unning through the center of the map, with fully working AI that changes lanes Updated the backdrop (distant terrain) to look better Screenshots:
Yeah, it always bothers me when it's kofi or patreon, for personal reasons I do not want to make ultimately single-use accounts just to get a game mod.
Great map! I'd just suggest adding some road signs and maybe a toll booth. Other than that, it's perfect.
instead of using the agent simplified traffic try this one: www.beamng.com/threads/1-5-update-need-for-speed-traffic-vehicles-pack.106258/ trust me
Trying to build a community outside of the BeamNG forum, instead of just uploading a file. This can turn a one-time downloader into a potential fan who sticks around and quickly sees my new mods. I’m not planning to release just this map, but many different maps that I’m currently working on
This map is well-made but there's really not much in it, especially since desert maps with fast roads are a dime a dozen. Don't take this the wrong way because being able to make a clean-looking map with high-detail meshes and pretty terrain is the hard part, and you've nailed that; improving the level design with more variety should be easier.
Thank you! Yeah, I know there isn’t much on this map, but it’s an old map that I made. I decided to add more details and post it. I’m planning to add a second road that will go through the center of the map, so there will be a bit more to see. I’m also thinking about adding some dirt roads around the map. I will also definitely make another highway map that will be much bigger (at least 8092×8092) and more detailed. I’ve already created the terrain for it, but I’m currently working on different maps right now
