A topic whats already approached but still missing is the Range/Split-Transmission for the Gavril T-Series Because the Players with Steeringwheel and Shifter like from Logitech are not able to shift all the 12 gears from the T-Series, because the Shifter has only 6 Gearpositions. So i think there should be added an Option to toggle the Rangegroup or/and Splitgears
100% agree. All it needs is a H/L transfer case with a 6 speed manual added to the T-Series as part of the official content.
hes not talking about adding a 6 speed trans with high/low, but more about an option to make the 12 speed to have 2 different range of gear, once you reach the 6 speed on your shifter you gonna press a button to jump on the second range of gear, then back to the first gear to continue (7-8-9-10-11-12).
Of course. 1L-2L-3L-4L-5L-6L > Range Toggle > 1H-2H-3H-4H-5H-6H. Just like ETS2 or ATS with the option for range/split for even greater than 12 speeds would be awesome.
It is still same way doable with range box, just bit different ratio needed. You can already bind range box to button, afaik. So all you would need is really to add a range box itself to semi with appropriate ratio. I don't think that real trucks have such transmissions of 12 gears IRL, all I have driven IRL have had max of 6 gears, but then some have splitter, making it to to have low and high range. So you go like 1L - 1H - 2L - 2H, however in practice most of the time you don't start with 1L or even 1H, it was 2nd when loaded or 3rd gear when empty and quite often skipping few of the gears/ranges as those are there for if you need in some situations, but torque is plenty enough to skip most of the shifting under normal conditions. With smaller 10 ton trucks there was often just 6 gears. So 12 speed gearbox in T-series really needs to be 6spd with a range box to be realistic.
That is just 2nd range box added with own key bind to that, but with 12 speed you don't need more than one range box. 18 speed is just 5 speed gearbox, rest of the gears are done by a splitter and range, but gearbox itself is not more than 5 gears plus reverse. You can see ratios etc from here: https://www.eaton.com/content/dam/e...eed-transmissions-brochure-trsl0250-en-us.pdf So far I don't know any truck gearbox having more than 6 gears, but those are of course doubled or tripled etc. However in T-series there are 12 gears in gearbox, which is not quite right, that would have 6 gears and splitter in euro way, but in Murica trucks that would be 5 speed with a splitter, afaik. Then again T-series is twin stick, which you would really need two shifters to operate properly and number of gears should not be 12 I think. Anyway this explains transmission that should be used in T-series (2nd post is well worth the read): https://www.bigmacktrucks.com/topic/398-twin-stick-transmission-shift-patterns/
thanks for taking your time to explain me all of this! now i do understand how it work , apreciate it a lots! Devs need to do something about it asap haha^^
