Large pickups, kind of the opposite of rare where I am. I live in a pretty urban area, and about 35-45% of the vehicles are large American pickups, when I go out west more, 90-95% of vehicles I see are pickups, and not little pickups either:
I can confirm that this is true... for most of the country. I'm out on the Sunshine Coast north of Vancouver and there are a tonne of right-hand drives imported from Japan. The other day I saw two Mitsubishi Delicas, three Toyota Hiluxes, and a Subaru Sambar in the span of about 40 minutes. Another Hilux literally just drove past my window It's pretty awesome here, but I hear Vancouver island has even more of them.
We've got lots of electric cars too. Some Teslas but mostly Nissan Leafs (Leaves?). I see Mitsubishi iMievs fairly often too.
Well, in my County, there are a lot of Nissan Cubes. About 6 2nd gen, and 8 3rd gen in my local area alone.
At least in my area there are 3 1980's Audi quattros that I know of. 1 of which I'm sure is not in working order but I know where it lives. Two others can occasionally be spotted being driven.
almost forgot. pre 2000s BMWs, post 1990 Mercedes and Audi are common sight in my area. Usually 5 series, 3 series, M3, M5, S600 Lwb, E250 AMG, S600 Maybach (about 2 in my area, belong to some rich guys), G class, Audi S5, Audi R8 Coupe and maybe all M BMWs and AMG Mercedes. In Vietnam, people really like those BMW, Audi and Mercedes. Definiton of luxurious cars in my country is Mercedes, BMW and Audi.
Not so much my area as just my neighbor... He's got a C-class Mercedes as a daily driver, a Lamborghini Murcielago(?) which he drives twice a week or so, a couple of classic pickup trucks, and a couple other super cars that I haven't had a good look at.
In Australia we find a lot of late model JDM cars (R34 Skylines, S15 silvias, Nissan Stageas and the like) that are banned in the USA due to the import restrictions It's sometimes painful to watch something like an S15 Silvia that has been driven into the ground and/or modified like utter crap. (for some hope in a greater being, look at Mighty Car Mods' Moog's Nissan S15, one of the greatest examples of its kind) In Australia we also have one of the greatest automotive inventions of all time that can be found in only very few other places in the world- The high performance, RWD ute. (HSV Maloo.) Also, I've seen one or two of the greatest modern cars available (according to the Jalop handbook): BMW 530d touring in Metallic brown with a manual box; proper hydraulic steering models as well
let me rephrase my first post, there are alot of toyota ae86's here, but on top of that there is a lot and i mean A LOT of rare jdm cars here, like nissan s-bodies etc you name it we have them here/
Ontario-centrism, man. We're the only province that matters... according to this province. I'd love to see some obscure Japanese imports. Never seen a Skyline before, that's on the bucket list.
