124 Diamond Avenue Garfield Heights, USA August 23, 2000 Crash Description: Officer Johnson pulled over a 1999 Ibishu Pessima LX for running a stop sign on Diamond Avenue and doing approximately 47 in a 25 zone. Ahead of the Pessima and Johnson's car was a parked Ibishu Covet Custom and a Ibishu 200BX. It was pretty much an average day, but Johnson had no idea what was going to happen in the next 45 seconds. Over on the east end of Diamond Ave., Simeon Townley was late for work at the local hardware store, and doing about 50 in his 1995 Gavril Roamer 4WD XL. Simeon trusted his Roamer to death. Unfortunately, Simeon, being a careless person, was texting on his phone and trying to find 105.3 Kool FM on his radio, so Simeon pretty much never saw what was coming up. Simeon blew through the intersection of Garfield Street and Diamond, still texting away on his phone. Johnson noticed the shiny blue SUV speeding towards him in his rear view mirror. Frantically, Johnson put his car in reverse and hit the gas pedal, but his car's rear wheels couldn't get any traction until the final moments of impact. Simeon noticed the police car too late and hit the brakes, shunting Johnson's car at about 48 MPH. The impact was so violent, Johnson's car was pushed into the back of the Pessima, who then hit the rear of the 200BX before hitting a young birch tree. The 200BX then bumped into the back of the Covet Custom. Injuries (If Any): Johnson suffered severe whiplash from the impact force alone, which slammed his abdomen into the steering wheel, fracturing his xiphoid process. Johnson was taken to a local hospital where he was treated for critical condition. Simeon suffered a fractured lower jaw from the force of his phone hitting it, broke his lower ankles, his upper and lower left arm, and dislocated a spine vertebrae. Like Johnson, Simeon was treated in critical condition at the local hospital.
