Now that I have a better idea of what I'm doing I realised my audio extensions script was full of beginner mistakes, so I rewrote it from scratch. Now it works perfectly with every vehicle in the session, regardless of whether the AI or the player are in control:

The strength of the EQ is exaggerated for the video, naturally everything can be tweaked just like a normal soundConfig.
Another feature I added while I was at it was the ability to specify a minimum throttle threshold, works nicely for the VTEC sound where it only activates when you're properly going for it.

Cool, so this will come not only with new sounds, but with sound tweaks in general?
If so, thank you very much :D

Probably yeah, I'm debating on how to release them, as I feel the scripts could be a useful utility for others outside of my own mod. Both will be released at some point but possibly as separate mods.

Appreciate it but the work they do is way harder than what I'm doing here. I'm just building on top of their hard work with some scripts and sounds ported from other games - I certainly wouldn't mind getting some recording equipment to do it all myself legitimately though!

Hey, is this considered a bump?
Anyway, is this being worked on?
And if so, can you make better crash sounds and stuff?
I know it isn't realistic ENGINE audio, but still, would be nice :D

never really had an issue with the crash audio personally but either way the mechanics are very different to that of engine sound in the game. and its not exactly interchangeable in the same way (correct me if im wrong)

It is, I just haven't done much that's worth showing lately, and a little bit of a break as I shift between different games to mod so that I don't burn out on one.

It's doable with some mods to the original Lua that plays the crash sounds, just depends how in-depth you care to go.

I think the entire engine jbeam was redone. I had to remove the 350 and Big Block Diesel from my Ultimate Performance Pack mod because the exhaust was screwed up since it was completely different. There have been a lot of subtle things to it.

I love it when people find new ways to do stuff in Beam. It's pretty incredible to me since there are not a lot of resources out there for modding. Well done!

    Hey.
    I have a question.
Will the D-Series sounds (and V8 sounds in general) change?
Because in your last video "MultipleVeh" we see no change from the original.

Yes, that video was made before I changed any D/Roamer engines.

Hey, I've been a bit inactive in terms of Beam modding so I've gone ahead and updated the first post with a beta release of the mod rather than let it be forgotten. I'll definitely come back and finish it off at some point but I thought releasing it now would help gather some feedback for future use.

The current version is in a sort of v0.5 state so I've labelled it as such. The script that allows for VTEC-type sound crossover isn't included yet as I feel that would need more polish before I can put it out. The mod attached in the OP covers most of the vanilla cars' engines but is missing some like the Covet's larger displacement engines, most Bolide engines, and probably more that I'm forgetting. I'm pretty confident that what's already in there sounds pretty good and is an improvement over the base game at least.

Give it a shot, hopefully you enjoy it, and feel free to let me know what works well and what doesn't.

Will it be possible that in the future the VTEC will only kick in the engines that have VTEC?

Yeah, it's specifically designed in a way that you can list which engine it should apply to, and disable it if certain parts are present - the way I set it up for my demo videos was to apply it to the Covet's 1.5 engine, but only when a turbo isn't present.

My feedback is that I loved the fact that even in the first version, I already had most of all the vehicles/engines in the game. However, it needs improvement in terms of sound volume, even with open headers the vehicles even has a "Muffled" sound. And the sound does not change according to Comfort, Sport and Etc modes

Pretty sure raw/muffled sounds are only possible via FMOD events, so only vanilla sounds can use it right now. It's possible to apply different EQ parameters to different exhaust or engine parts but this gets messy with different combinations, and even then EQ can't make as much of a difference as the actual sound swap the vanilla sounds can do.

Found a bug, don't know if it has been reported or not but on the newer ETKs, the turbo sound keeps repeating itself even without revving

Thanks, that was an experiment that I ditched, thought I cleared it out properly. Should be fixed now if you want to grab the newest file from the OP.
