I run on the lowest settings just so I don't overwork my computer, and I have to say... they really could be done better. Is it possible that, instead of presenting the trees as green blobs where their actual contact area is often invisible, would it be possible to just do away with the leaves and have only the contactable parts showing? On top of that, is there a way to get rid of all the smaller vegetation that serves only as scenery? Furthermore, it would be nice to have the ability to completely remove skidmarks and particles. And then, finally, if it would make a difference and isn't a lot of work, it would be nice to have chrome changed to a brushed aluminum sort of look in lower graphics settings. It's just annoying that there is still a lot of unnecessary stuff going on graphically and the actual cutbacks just make it harder to see obstacles.
Umm ok well the graphics will be improved in the race update. also if it "isn't a lot of work" just do it yourself and make it a mod.
Yeah, if there was a way to reduce or adjust the 2D "brush" sprites and particles (perhaps a slider, similar to RoR?) my laptop would have a much better time of running Beam.
something like this? http://www.beamng.com/threads/7274-Disable-dust-and-skidmarks?p=93830#post93830 same goes for foliage & vegetation i think.
Thanks a bunch. I find it funny that this supposedly demanding game is one of a select few my laptop can run at all.
I'll admit I'm a bit disappointed that there's still no way to permanently hide the 'Ground Cover.' I have to go through F11 every time I open a map with grass. Also, is it at all possible for something like "Hide all non-contactable objects" or a way to hide the leaves of the trees, but not the actual trees? Even the lowest graphics settings include far too many unnecessary things. It would be a billion times better if all I could see was stuff that I can hit.
