Hi just wondering where the 2 russian map (ussr and russian province) threads went. Cant seem to find them
They were taken down because the car pack that went along with the USSR map had stolen content. The USSR thread was first taken down and then when Andrey2020 (the author) mentioned that they were still going to release the car pack despite not having permission in the Russian Province thread, Andrey2020 got banned and that thread got taken down. A little sad because they were pretty good maps, however it was their decisions, and because of their car pack you never know if the maps also have stolen content.
Judging by how fast the progress was going, the maps most likely did have stolen content too, because almost nobody can model and texture so fast. And it's unbelievable how they thought that nobody will notice/care that they included a stolen edited version of Lada Car Pack with the map, and pretended that it's made from scratch posting fake progress unrealistically fast too (making a whole car in 1 day seemed really sus).
It would be against the rule to reupload a map taken down for good reason, and it doesn't make sense to remove the stolen content if nearly all of it was stolen in the first place.
If they didn't use any stolen content and got removed of every stolen content, it could be possible, however it would be very time-consuming.
I don't get it, if the mod is not on repo, why does it matter if not each of 439 291 map objects was made by Topic Starter?
However is impossible to ask permission for every single map asset. One could take an asset from gta 5 mod and port it to beamng, but that mod was previously ported to GTA 5 from GTA SA where it originated 10 years ago. There is 0% chance of contacting OG author. He is either dead or stopped playing videogames a while ago. Thus it's now a public legacy.
None of this is an issue if you're actually decent at making mods and don't need to piggyback off of other people's work
The cars he stole were made by an active modder on the forum and he could have easily asked for permission to modify them. (Idk if he would have received the premission, but should have asked anyway.)
Yeah content creation for this game takes time, you should know it at this point, it's not a game for impatient people
But is it though? The map had half a million issues, lagged the game like hell and was pretty boring imo.
