Just to make it clear, the file i added is not the piad model. its a different mod sourced from spintires.nl
Im not. i just think Mike could look at the model to take some measurements as we have the frame as a scale (which is included in sids mod) in case he goes for the Fc150
You're right. The Jeep FC uses the CJ-5 frame, engine and maybe axles? The later model has wider track though. The FC is as unique vehicle as the Datsun 210 and it's cab over and from 50's/60's. It's a nice little truck. This could be my next project, but as I said earlier, the Satsuma is still far from ready. Those pro-models are really expensive and I get no money from my mods, as I don't know how to make some donate button. I have personal paypal account and so I can't make a donate button. Also the paypal.me link shows my real name and address, so I really don't want to post it to any public forum. How I'm supposed to open those "X" files? It could be a good reference model.
i'm not very sure about that as i never got into spintires modding much but a forum post on the spintires forum mentions some software to open it and export to 3ds. http://www.oovee.co.uk/forum/topic/6830-how-to-openedit-x-files/ Why don't make a patreon as suggested by @WalrusVersionofCRAZYRACER --- Post updated --- I have downloaded aforementioned tool and converted the file to .3ds sucessfully. Cant upload .3ds on here so i changed the file name extension to .txt just change it back and it should work just fine.
Thanks. The model is pretty crude and there is no separate frame or stock suspension at all, but maybe the cab dimensions are accurate. I'm sure there is lots of info about the Jeep CJ-5 available online since it's so popular offroader and it shares most of the parts with the FC. I'll see if I can make a patreon account.
I raise to two Spoons. --- Post updated --- The Dimensions are right. you might try to take measurements. you have a wheelbase of 81 Inches on the FC-150 So with a little bit of math you could be able to figure out measurements. I'll be on the hunt for more data and maybe drawings the truck itself. --- Post updated --- Paper model that looks okayish (6.50$) http://papercruiser.com/products-page/jeep-paper-models/ Jackpot! FC-150 and FC-170 Parts list. Makes it easy to find out which parts were used and gather info about them. (maybe measurements) All original part nummers. http://jeepwillysworld.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/FC_150_170_Parts_List_1964.pdf Willys Forum: entries and documents about the FC: http://jeepwillysworld.com/?s=FC Another Collection of Drawings and parts lists http://www.jeepsurreygala.com/?page_id=1137 and a few shabby darwings from a ad poster --- Post updated --- And to Complete the Set i have a Name Suggestion too. Brand: Wilbur (Inspired by Willys-Jeep) Broug (Inspired by Steven Brooks the Designer of the FC Line) Model: CMM - 81/50 (corporate, muncipal, military. 81 Inch Wheelbase 5000lbs curb); 4MT (4WD Modular Truck) Also it would be viable to call it the FC because Forward Control is a older but common them for Cab over Engine or simply Cabover nowadays. (i think FC was a popular term in the UK)
Thanks very much. I was looking for the old sales brochures. They have lots of info about the truck and usually nice photos of the engine and mechanicals. The old brochures were a big help when I made the Satsuma. By the way, I made the Patreon page and the Paypal donate button. I thought that only business account allows donate buttons but I was wrong.
Great. Ill make sure to donate as soon as some money comes in --- Post updated --- *facepalm* there is none as of yet. the Jeep FC is (probably) his next Project and i and walrus were just helping him out with the research. Also mike usually releases betas. --- Post updated --- I also looked into the model and found out that mat_12 is the frameish thing in SIDs model --- Post updated --- And Sketchup 3D warehouse to the rescue: Some FC 150 and 170 Models.
