The steering problem is caused by the steering box being mounted on the very front end of the left frame rail and it gets pushed back when the frame hits some obstacle making the car veer to the left. The steering geometry is similar to the T-series and it also suffers this problem after hard frontal crashes. At least old Datsun brochures refers it as a sedan. Many pre-war cars with no trunk at all were marketed as sedans. Thanks very much!
This is a beautiful looking and unique vehicle. Nice work! Gotta' jump on the too strong bandwagon: Result after a 900ft jaunt down my ramp of doom. Most vehicles are mere puddles after this.
I'd suggest moving the outside camera more towards the middle of the car because currently it rotates around the back of the car which means it looks ridiculously out of proportion when viewed from the front.
I think it is, the (real) Minis are classified as saloons (sedans to those in America) because the boot isn't a full hatch.
This is a fantastic little car. Have you thought of doing a early Prince Skyline as your next project?
I can try, but I don't think that's possible, because the reference node is about where the b-pillars are and the camera rotates around it That would be very, very hard to make. There are almost none information about the car, the hiqh quality images are scarce and there are no blueprints available at all on the internet.
I downloaded the D15 Technical mod by @Stoat Muldoon and gave the Satsuma a shot with the recoilless rifle trough the trunk!. What a great mod that is. The M2 50cal. machine gun helped me to find another bug: when the front fenders detach, the meshes are still attached to the inner fenders. I'll fix that for the next update.
Nice work crossing over MSC and beamng in term of brands. I would like to see the MSC Satsuma, or a "Satsuma" 510 (Based on the same number datsun or something like that) But that is on the long term if you want to keep going with mod making. Outside of that, a Automatic Gearbox would be nice. Even if it is only on the very high end model.
