Make: Gavril Model: Barstow Year: 1969 Gearbox: 4 Speed "TorqFly" Manual Range Variant: Moon blue "Roadsport" Engine: 353 CUI V8 With Gavril "Comet" Roots Style Supercharger Wheels: Factory 14x6 Steelies with Some pretty worn Goodrich Road Tires. Miles: 240,000 A/C: No Rego: No VIN: KB055845BRSK Emissions legal: N/A Shipping Or Pickup, Test drive welcome 2 Wood Drive, Nevada. Description: Here we have a rare specimen, One of the first Barstows to ever come off the production line (Only 2000 of them ever made before the design was revised). this car has been sitting in my Barn for 46 years, in pretty good nick, Today i fired her up (I do not reccomend full synthetic oil with this engine, it stalls easily and runs hot) She got going but has a misfire (a common problem for the roadsport models of this year), transmission is in good nick, clutch has considerable wear, she has Heaps of power but the 4 speed Sort of holds it back, MASSIVE Torque. One problem is that the Hood has a bit of a dent on it which makes it hard to open, and sometimes it jams, the front bumper is also falling off (Another common problem of this year of barstow) I have cleaned the Carburetor, which Unsurprisingly had a lot of rust and dirt in it. This car has an amazing sound that you have to hear in person (Except the squeaky fanbelt, which plagued pretty much every single Gavril pre 1998). Has all the original '69 interior, no warning lights of course. just got all your important gauges and nothing else. no air conditioning, just fan. the radio Still works Incredibly. One nice thing about the interior of this automobile is that the dash is coated with leather, something you don't get with cars these days. Also, Heaps of 60's wood trim. comfortable seats, they are cloth, not leather. Windows, as expected do not work and are coming off the frame, and it's an extremely hard job to replace the window mechanisms because #1 There's no parts ANYWHERE And #2 The Door panel is held on with extremely strong glue. as well as bolts. A lovely automobile to drive everyday, leaf sprung up back and independent up front, as expected for any 60's car. the suspension is soft. giving it a very comfortable ride, leaf springs are just about rusted out, so replacements might be needed. An all around must have classic for any enthusiast! Asking Price: $10,000 USD (Negotiable) Inquiries Welcome
Nice car, but please use the forum's file attachment thingy instead of putting the URLs in the post because it is a bit of a pain to go through each link.
