Last point is actually false. It was true previously when laptops would have a 960M rather than a 960. But for Pascal, power efficiency has caught up so much that Nvidia stopped making mobile cards and actually put the full desktop cards in laptops. A regular desktop grade 1060 is faster than the 980M and has a lower TDP than the 980M too, so gaming laptops that would have had the 980M now have the cheaper 1060, gainoga both performance and battery life while providing cost savings Nvidia have now finally released a mobile version of the 1060 and the 1070 only, there is no mobile 1050, therefore that laptop will be sporting a full blown desktop 1050
