Should I get an external graphics card for my laptop because its very expensive to get desktop built especially in Canada nova scotia it can cost up $3400 for high to mid end gaming pc that price is even for the per built ones

But with external GPU I can get a razer core x with a 1080 in it just over $1000 I already asked razer about it and my laptop can handle it because of thunder bolt port. I just don’t know if my CPU can keep up with the GTX 1080

My laptop specs: Intel(R) Core i7-6700HQ CPU @ 2.60 GHz turbo Boost 3.50 GHz

    16 GB DDR4 RAM @2133MHz

    960M 4GB VRAM (basically just 750 ti)

    Windows 10 1803

Name of computer Acer V Nitro 17

I am just wondering is worth going for the external GPU for my laptop?
