WIP Skeleton Coast

Any news? I'm really excited for this.

 

Will the mines be explorable? It would be nice for rally or exploration in the dark.

 

The basic map is mostly done, I will just add some more tracks here and there but probably no more "landmarks", except if something presents itself.. I am thinking of adding some missions but to be honest I never play the BeamNG missions myself so I am not entirely sure what to add. Will probably do some sort of Beta testing soon before release.

Most of the mining in the area was surface mining, so there aren´t a lot of tunnels around. Still I am also thinking about it but I am not really sure how to do it atm. Maybe just with the Utah mine assets, I shall see if it fits or not..

 

If you're open to randoms doing beta testing, I'd happily volunteer

 

Yes sure, I will set up a discord server for that. Probably even before beta testing to discuss some general features of the map I am not sure about.


Also if someone is motivated to join in on doing some missions and time trials that would be highly appreciated. I have no experience creating missions and this will probably take me a while.

 

As I said, I'm open to testing. Unfortunately, I know nothing about Missions/Time Trials, so I would be of no use when it comes to that.

 

Looking forward to this map, ofroad, it is suitible for rally dirving? that would be awsome.

 

Sure, but more like rally dakar, not pikes peak. Rather similar to Johnson Valley I´d say, maybe a bit faster and longer distances in the desert vs rather slow and rough trails on the coast and in the mountains.

 

This must be a good map! I can't wait to see the end result.

 

Update:

• Spawn locations done.

• Map markers and automatic route finding/ai roads done.

• Work in progress on the missions.

• Lots of progress reworking some of the existing roads and adding new ones in.

 

God I can't wait for this map, especially the diamond mine seems really unique to me.

Big Update:
The mines are now explorable. Lots of dark tunnels. There is a quarry that has been turned into a squatter village. I tried to give this part of the map a slight Mad Max/Fallout feel to it. Of course such places don´t exist in the real namib desert but its a video game, so why not?

they are now . a bit too dark and narrow for rallying but great for exploring.

 

This map has so much detail, I can't wait for its release.

SO SO ready for this my man keep up the great work!!

 

If you make this white or sand coloured it would actually fit very well as a park ranger vehicle on this map.
I will have to do some more trails on this map and some crawling sections before release..

 

Finally an overlander build makes sense.
