Bring the beta out, and we dive it ;>) Looks like a great map for some role playing in it, I made some pickup cars in advantage ;>)
Once again, breathtaking views! I am very impressed by the depth of the landscape. I am used to longer trips, but I am particularly looking forward to this one!
I enjoy both reading and writing fiction, which is a major reason why I spend so much of my time in Beam role playing. Having a large map like this where I can take a trip from one town to another with actual road signs to help me navigate will really improve the experience. Thank you for all your work!
Hey, if you say you are writing fiction.. I do plan to have some missions on this map (I made some already but only very basic..) and I am always trying to add some story or lore to both missions and the map itself (even if its only minor). So if you have something in mind or some ideas write me a pm and we talk about it
I'm not a writer, but, a mission that brings oil from the city to remote places in the map, or bring building equipment to remote area's, or bringing tourist to a camping zone, or get a stranded car out of the dessert. Just some of idea's that pop up in my mind ;>)
Yea so far I made exactly that, water delivery (since there is no drinkable water on the coast), construction material delivery and resetting some camera traps for the research station. I think it would be very cool to have some sort of "story" that gets either told by missions and/or simply by things you can find on the map. But this is something I might bring my attention to when the map itself is finished. Thats the main focus atm..
Update: Lots of work along the highway to make it feel more "alive". New power poles, a road house, a motel and some 2D wilflife.
Nice work! Getting that "alive" feel is a real challenge. Anyone can fill a map with stuff, but getting that stuff to become a living space is the hard part. And it's not just the labor: you have to adjust countless little things over and over until you get the right feeling with it. My respect for your dedication to crafting something you're proud of. As far as a story goes, I'm afraid I'm somewhat new to the Beamng forums, and I don't know how to PM people yet... Once I figure that out, I'll be glad to send some ideas!
Looks great, happy you also think about things beside the roads, lots of maps are pretty empty, can't wait to drive there, love big maps, especialy for role playing, or just cruising and look around,
Dang i love this! This map seems it'll have tons of details! And quite an exotic location too! Can't wait for it to release
I added a lot of advertisments and signs to make the towns more alive and "african". For those of you who are really brave: and for everybody else
I have the honor to beta test the demo for Murokmakto's Skeleton Coast map, and it's already a beautiful map, even in beta. After a lot of bumping against all stuff, and driving around it is time to get a beer. 2 impession foto's.
after seeing all the pictures in this thread, this map looks phenomenal although judging by placement of the road signs and traffic lights, i would have preferred if traffic is on the left side of the road like Namibia IRL. still very excited when this map releases i cant wait.
Yes I wanted to make this RHD traffic first but I decided against it since most cars in Beamng are LHD only... would be too annoying to have the steering wheel on the wrong side with all cars when driving in cockpit view.. at least for me..
Wow...from those two screenshots alone it's easy to see the amount of life put into this map. It's one thing to create a map with roads and trails that are fun to drive -- it's another thing entirely to also add the feeling that it's a real, lived-in place. I can't wait!
Finaly at the destenation, that will be the next testing ground, now it is time for some food and drinks ;>)
Still beta testing, after checking out if everything is save in Skeleton Coast, I wanted to rest at the see, and enjoying the sunset.
