Try moving the wheel and its origin point in Blender, see if that helps. The origin should be at the center of the wheel, or where it turns. I’m not an expert in props though, so I may be wrong.
Nothing. --- Post updated --- I already did that. It rotates decently, but is to low and to much left. I dunno, if this is fixable, because, I didnt found any position coordinates. Hmmm. I will keep trying
I already did that. It rotates decently, but is to low and to much left. I dunno, if this is fixable, because, I didnt found any position coordinates. Hmmm. I will k Yes, it is. It rotates perfect in the way, a steering wheel should rotate, but as you can see in the picture, the position is off... Also, Thanks @DieselDuster, for following me
I guess Schmitti meant it as in a lot of stuff to take in at once, all kinda thrown in your face, and didn’t know the „usual” meaning.
I'm sorry. For some reason, my brain connected offensive with the german word "offensichtlich"(something, like visible for everyone), maybe, because it sounds pretty similar. I already changed it in the post, mentioned by @dmc turbo to "apparently".
I now almost fixed the position of the steering wheel. The only issue, I have, is, that every time, I change the y variable in baseTranslation, the wheel moves to the left, or right, but on the x, not the y-axis. Does anybody know, how to deal with this? EDIT: It´s fixed now. The only two things, left to do until release are fixing the gauges and adding configurations. If everything wents perfect, you already can expect it TOMORROW!!!!! --- Post updated --- Okay, the gauges are more complex, than I thought. The rotation is now alright, but I cant change the BaseRotation on the y and x axis. Does anyone know, what the problem is and how to rotate them properly (is there maybe something in the world editor)?
Im not really a fan of modern cars but gonna say you progress is going great for your first mod, good work on thats buddy .
Only a word of warning. Should I not be able, to fix the gauges issue, then of course, I wont release the mod tomorrow. Configs shouldnt take more than an hour, I already got lots of ideas for it. But the gauges cause me headache. I dont know, what Im doing wrong... If anyone knows more, I would appreciate any kind of help. Sadly, I didnt find any tutorial videos. Well, we'll see, how it goes. I wish you all the best! Schmitti Thanks, and also thanks, for following me. I also like older cars more than newer, but this is my parents car, so I thought, why not taking it?
Yeah, but I also have some plans for following mods and that are planned, to be older cars. BTW, the needles are now rotating almost correctly, but they start on the top of the gauges and not, where there are supposed to start. Baserotation seems, to only changes the direction of the needles, but not, where they start...
To do that, there’s a thing called “offset”. For that value, set the RPM or speed in m/s that the needle points to at the top, but with a minus, since you’re offsetting it by that number. Yes, the internal value of speed is meters per second. So km/h divided by 3.6 (although you propably know that) Oh, and also, the “min” and “max” stuff needs to be adjusted to your liking, same with some rotation value that’s different for every needle (forgot what it was called lol), which is angle/number, for example if a gauge has a 3000 RPM change in 90 degrees, that rotation value thing is 90/3000, which is 0,03. Add a minus, and that value should be -0,03 if you want it to spin at that ratio in the right direction. Although I do feel like reading that documentation page about props would be better than listening to the ramblings of a crazy person, seems like these ramblings helped you before.
Well, the "ramblings" are actually very helpful and I dont think, you´re a crazy person! Anyways, this helps me a lot, I now just need to adjust everything correctly, then do a quick final testing, add configs, make thumbnails and you can expect this boy already in evening
