Re: Slayer's Mods [Covet 0.3.8 Redux] I think we should let him rest because he's working really hard on this, but that's a good idea tho.
Re: Slayer's Mods [Covet 0.3.8 Redux] Oh I know. Not right away but I would like to see it. Wouldn't be too hard since he's done it before
Re: Slayer's Mods [Covet 0.3.8 Redux] What's left on the todo list for the derby D-15? Jbeam the exhaust header Remove I6 variant as it has been deemed unnecessary Fix sounds as the newest update made custom sounds silence.
Re: Slayer's Mods [Covet 0.3.8 Redux] The rally covet has no Engine sound Other than that it's pretty good.
Re: Slayer's Mods [Covet 0.3.8 Redux] New version of BeamNG made custom engine sounds via lua from the previous version broken. I need to make a fallback patch. - - - Updated - - - made headers bigger, when I get to the jbeam, when you roll they should bend, already have a plan as to how to implement the idea.
Re: Slayer's Mods [Covet 0.3.8 Redux] Not that I'm asking you or telling you that you should change it because it's not a huge deal. Why did you take off the doors again?
Re: Slayer's Mods [Covet 0.3.8 Redux] Because it makes it easier for reinforcement from a jbeam standpoint as I've jbeamed the entire rollcage when it would seem the less realistic but more normal way to go is to have one node in the centre of the cockpit and ridgify your whole cockpit around it and make the mesh of the rollcage actually use the whole cockpit skeleton as it's jbeam structure. If I made a Roamer I would do it with the doors on and do what I said and maybe model a rollbar that goes through the door window frame and over the roof like on many derby vehicles, depends how SUVs are done. [I would still have a rollcage on the inside the would run across the doors and such. - - - Updated - - - Exhaust Jbeamed.
Re: Slayer's Mods [Covet 0.3.8 Redux] More Exhaust images, these prove minimal clipping. - - - Updated - - - Moderate clipping may occur in offset high speed crashes, this will later have attempted fixes but nothing is guaranteed.
Re: Slayer's Mods [Covet 0.3.8 Redux] I ment for the derby d-15 as release is around the corner. also i so I am already working on a specific project already is underway that means I can't work on an off-load gm last time id worked on that the front suspension was a nightmare anyway
Re: Slayer's Mods [Covet 0.3.8 Redux] Doors lol, they would be nice, but if it's to much hassle, not a big deal. It's looking pretty good.
Re: Slayer's Mods [Covet 0.3.8 Redux] If it's not a huge problem another version of the truck with a halfway flattened bed. Almost half of the derby trucks in my area do this to their truck.
Re: Slayer's Mods [Covet 0.3.8 Redux] Sorry id have to rework the entire rollcage jbeam. - - - Updated - - - I'll think about an alt bed, however the biggest problem is reworking and bending the mesh around in blender. - - - Updated - - - So I am currently playing around with suspension ideas for things to learn a bit about it. I've been able to accomplish the replacement of Leaf and Shocks on the D-15 Racing Truck to be replaced with struts. (imported from here) Much stiffer, wider suspension, nearly removed bounce, ect.
Re: Slayer's Mods [Covet 0.3.8 Redux] I've seen a guy put shocks WITH the leaf springs on a Chrylser Imperial. Coil springs by themselves make the ass end a bit weaker, springs help hold the car together in the back.
Re: Slayer's Mods [Covet 0.3.8 Redux] I know how it works.. if you only had a spring it would constantly store and dispel energy and become a bouncy house on wheels. what you are looking at is a basic model of a strut which is a shock and spring combination. From the jbeam what I've done is removed the spring mount for the bottom of the truck, moved the wheels outward placed a new spring mount near the ends of the axle and made a strut that attaches to a top mount that is near the top/middle of the wheel-well since the shocks aren't angles it seems to keep the vehicle from bouncing so much. Another thing is, my ride height is low, for a truck with solid rear axle. This strut system gives more compression room [longer travel] for the strut to work with mean less stiff bounce cause by lack of clearance. Also this is made for the D-15 RACING TRUCK not the Derby.
Re: Slayer's Mods [Covet 0.3.8 Redux] Oh... I see. Was going to say, you want your springs stiff for derbying lol. Make that front end bounce across the track!
Re: Slayer's Mods [Covet 0.3.8 Redux] D-15 RACING TRUCK Changed colour texture properties Add mild nagitive camber to front suspention (imported from here) (imported from here) On a side note I am still planing to release the D-15 Derby soon just thinking, in the mean time I've been working on the racing truck.
