You're right about that. I remember that when I cared about my channel and audience, I would always get excited when I had a new comment or a video got mildly popular. But people do watch your videos. You probably won't find your audience here on these forums, but you'll find it elsewhere, I'm sure. Once again, don't worry if some people don't like your videos. There will always be people that do. It does still matter if you enjoy making videos. Good luck with your channel if you choose to continue with it.
I have a youtube channel, and I just upload unedited clips from random games. They're all unlisted. You can't go to youtube looking for subs. Go to youtube hoping to store some funny clips, get a few views, and a few laughs. Honestly, you shouldn't care about views or subs. There are much more important things in life. Make montages for fun, and for your own enjoyment. Also, I had another channel where I uploaded RoR tutorials and stuff, and back then I was doing it for the views; I felt depressed and discouraged when videos didn't get views or I got negative comments. Even then, I got around 50 subs and 10,000 views just by uploading clickbait popular videos.
I dont look for views and subs as a priority, Those are numbers that tells me people are watching, and likes tell me they are enjoying, subs tell me who will stick by... I dont care about the numbers or the money or anything, just about whos watching.
I care about making my own opinion of a game or mod, and trying to say what I like about it, what can be improved upon, etc.
Haha, this reminds me of something. I once made a Minecraft mod installation tutorial that was the absolute shittiest video you would have ever seen in your life. Recorded on crappy laptop with crappy microphone? Check. 12-year old with no idea what he's doing? Check. No edits? Check. It's a miracle I even got the mod installed in the video, but it was the only installation tutorial for that particular mod, even though that's pointless because you install most mods pretty much the same way. It ended up getting featured on some foreign mod website and it racked up several thousand views, with about 70% likes and 30% dislikes on the video. I was still happy about it. I made another similarly crappy one a while later that did similarly well. They're long deleted now, obviously.
Are you making videos for other people to watch or just for fun? Should be the latter. The fact that you are disappointing that your videos are not getting views proves you want views. There's nothing wrong with that, it's just that mindset will always lead to disappointment unless you're pewdiepie. Do it for fun; don't have expectations of views. You'll be happier that way. Keep up the montages, for your own enjoyment.
I agree with you, I know we have had arguments (all of them my fault) but to me and you, these things are just numbers. I only posted this so that our videos would get noticed, not for our "numbers" to go up. People complaining about not being "UNIQUE" when 90% of YouTube is just Let's Player's copying PewDiePie. We make montages because it's fun, we enjoy doing it, it makes people happy, and people want more. I personally only do this as a fun way to show off my editing skills and hope to make a few people happy now and then. People criticize channels in horrible ways saying stuff like "go get cancer" and "you act like you have Autism!" and other hurtful things like that when all (most) people want to do is make some people happy. People do care out there but just obviously not here. If you really enjoy making videos, people will find your videos eventually. You just need to get the word out there about your channel. Go on forums (not this one obviously), got on Twitter, Facebook, Google +, anywhere that you can share or advertise your video. People will never find small YouTubers unless the small YouTuber gets their name out there. The moral of this long and boring speech is that if you enjoy doing something, do it until either you don't like it anymore, or you just can't. Never give up because one day you and me and every single small YouTuber out there will get our chance. I hope this helps clayton P.S. All of the arguments we had were my fault, I over react a lot and I hate myself for it. I hope you keep doing YouTube becuase people DO enjoy your content.
Go to my channel (In signature) and look for "The Race Part 2" Its got horrible voice acting, but I put a lot of time into it, edited it well and I uploaded it in very high quality. 57 views. Did I care? No! I didn't give a fuck that It got 57 views, why? Because I had fun! I upload videos for fun! I love making mini movies! I don't care that no one watches it or engages with it, I mainly upload it and show it off to my friends if a video turned out to be a hit and get 600+ views, I'd be very happy that someone watched, but I wouldn't be annoyed if I only got 30.
Precisely what I'm saying. Precisely. EDIT: I just watched it... it's actually really well done. Also, now 58 views.
I get videos all the time with like 14 views. I don't care though. I get videos with 100+ views, and yes it feels great to know it did well but I don't care. I just upload for the fun of it
Can someone please explain why I've been saying the EXACT same thing for the past 2 hours and yet he says it and you guys are counting the views? Nothing against you guys but why is it whenever I say something, I get no support but when someone else says something very similar to what I said they get all of the support in the world? Is it because I'm new here so I have to earn respect? Is it a crime here to help someone with YouTube? Please help me out here because I am extremely confused.
Honestly, because he said the voice acting was awful. I wanted to see how awful. I've seen every BeamNG montage on Earth, I'm not interested in anyones, no matter how well done.
It isn't just here that it's happened, I happens everywhere. Everyone thinks I'm stupid and I understand I'm 13 and I AM stupid but still... I just don't understand.
Just make something original and do what you love. I've repeated myself enough here as well. Also, I was pleasantly surpirsed by your GTA film, Whippy. Great job on it. I can tell you enjoyed making it because you paid attention to details and turned it into a well-rounded piece. I don't mean to offend anyone else by saying this. Just offering my honest opinions.
I hate to say it but the word "original" is way overused. You have to just do what you love doing and for me it's making montages. So what everyone does montages? Is it a crime that we are doing what we enjoy doing? You guys use "original" like what we do isn't "original" because other people do what we do. There is this thing called a target audience where a YouTuber makes videos based around maybe 18 year olds or maybe BeamNG players. You probably know this but PLEASE just for once, stop saying original like our videos aren't. I think that's all there is to say
