in relation to this, will we ever get a better wheel selector too, the browser is a very neat thing but its still hunderds of wheels
Agree about alot of it. About the sense or lack of tire grip limit, which i absolutely agree with is hard to feel/know since we dont have as much to communicate that with as irl. I do one important (for me) thing in vanilla beamng, i always increase the g-force coefficient from the max of 20 (0.2) for a wheel to 80-100% (0.8-1.0) which can only be done in the wheels inputmaps file in your settings folder for beamng. I did make a mod that increased it but its not updated and this is so easy anyways. I did release a mod where i tried to get this feeling better communicated through the wheel; i tried to scale part of the ffb forces using the g-forces (since i dont know if theres a tire grip value somewhere), so that the higher the lateral g-force (sensors.x?) the stronger the ffb would get. A very static way of trying to tell the user the tire grip since the g-forces is a dynamic thing, never got it good enough imo.
Kindly asking if there any news or progress to share ? --- Post updated --- Kindly asking if there any news or progress to share ?
Sure Progress is still ongoing normally, so far we haven't stumbled upon any big blockers. The work on the necessary tools is ongoing. The research of the gigabytes of data in order to define the best approach for thermal physics continues at a reasonable pace (considering we cannot have some dedicated developer working on this alone 24/7; remember our dev team is limited, and the scope of our simulator caters to a lot more variety of users than people think). So for now nothing exciting to share, just more dilligent work going on behind the curtains. No fancy screenshots or videos, and definitely nothing playable that can be released in updates any time soon.
Ever since the Release of the Video showing us that BeamNG is working on better Tire Physics, I have been obsessed with the Idea of it. As much as I would love to see it in the BeamNG already, can we get a Video on the Subject regardless of its current State of Development? Maybe a dip into it in an upcoming Devblog?
