But that wouldn't be the multiplayer experience everyone is expecting. Not being rude, but 99% of the community would be disappointed if multiplayer lacked collisions. That is also the reason nadeox told Chris Lucas that he shouldn't call his mod the official multiplayer, because of the lack of that.
Why would everyone be disappointed? It's multiplayer and everyone would be excited no matter what. Trolls would ram the hell out of you ruining that experience and I don't think bans exist on game multiplayer.
If I remember correctly, that is one of the reasons the Rigs of Rods multiplayer mode ended up having no collisions. 1. The multiplayer was laggy and not that stable with collisions 2. Some people kept wrecking into other people's cars, while those people just wanted to drive around. Maybe having some kind of "passive mode" which makes your car either non-collidable or indestructible would be a solution ? EDIT Ot : My problem with the game currently really is the lack of content. Sure, it will come with time. But it's bothering me since some time.
No passive mode. Sorry, but that is one of the many things that broke GTA online. It can be easily abused. Maybe passive and non passive lobbies, but no mixed lobbies.
One thing I dislike about this game: formatting errors and inconsistencies even in the official vehicles Jbeams. Every time you hit the spacebar to indent your code, God kills a kitten. Please think of the kittens, use tab indentation.
There was a study that showed coders who indent with spaces get paid a few grand more than those who indent with tabs. Whoever wrote that just wha?
I agree but i guess it was their only option. It would be a horrendous hassle to move to another graphics engine i would assume. Talking about visual things one thing that annoys me is that there is no dynamic dirt. It wrecks the immersion when you go through mud or gravel.
I don't have any issues apart from long loading times (blame the FX-8350, wanting to switch to Intel).
It would definitely be a big struggle to a move to an entirely different engine at this point, and I don't think the benefits would be worth how much time and work it would take. I think when this game was still in pre-alpha 4+ years ago Torque3D was the only engine that offered full source code access on reasonable licensing terms. While this means that the graphics aren't as good as Cryengine or Unreal Engine, it also means that the BeamNG devs have the flexibility to implement a bespoke physically based rendering and lighting system in the future, which would be awesome. We'll probably see dynamic dust and mud before then, though. Sort of OT, but have you considered any of the Ryzen CPUs? AMD has vastly improved their competitiveness to Intel with their latest processors, so there may be something in their lineup that meets your performance/price criteria.
I have a ryzen 1800x from a 8150 fx and I still have the gtx970 with ryzen I'm getting more fps and its smooth as and the cpu usage in this game is only 20 to 25 % lol
I got a more crappier CPU on my laptop and definitely, longer loading times than your's. (Issa Intel i5-4200U)
1. i have good graphic but shitty for the rest 5. i know. I learn jbeam actually i work on a pessima 1996 convertible
