A nice way to change up the car and make it look "Different" would be adding some woodgrain trim. --- Post updated --- This?
does the guage cluster do that with the lights off and on? for me on my computer it works just fine until the lights are on for the hubcaps, do all the other car's hubcaps work? before people were having trouble with the 4000 overwriting all hubcaps but its own
I don't know what file I have to manipulate to get the cluster to work properly. there is no g4000_gauges_G.dds like there is for the light glow maps only diffuse, normal, and specular like everything else --- Post updated --- it begins --- Post updated ---
That's what it's supposed to be, have you even seen every 80's FWD car GM made, they're the same except others are way more plush and expensive.
Bwahahahahahaha! True true! That's so hysterical, coming from someone who always hated the platform-sharing idea when the car obviously kept a majority of the same parts. In the end, GM having Chevrolet, GMC, Pontiac, Oldsmobile, Buick, Cadillac, Saturn (and even Geo way back), and still partners with Isuzu at the time... That put quite a hurting on themselves. Sure, they often had a different dash layout, lights/trim, and accessory/feature packages, and sometimes even different standard and available engine or drive-train options. Some didn't even have that much of a difference at all. Sure, platform/frame/chassis sharing is fine but for crying out loud, domestic auto-makers are guilty of quite the copy-pasting act from the 80s into now. It's gotten a little better since Plymouth, Eagle/AMC, Oldsmobile, Pontiac, and Mercury are gone, but SHEESH. Now all new cars of similar price look the same no matter what. I drive 10~15 year old cars that still have actual bumpers, and not lots of 'amenities' that someone like me would never use or never do so when driving. The maker of this mod sees it for what it is, and that's 100% what it is, and supposed to be.
after almost 3 months of doing absolutely nothing with this project, ive found some time this weekend and ive already made a few improvements, ive finally adjusted the damage textures of the brakelights to align with the new taillight design, and im making a few more tweaks to the new woodgrain clad interior tonight, I hope to release 1.6 by sunday night
that is not a problem anymore at least with my end, I just tested it by deleting all of the soliad 4000 files off my secondary computer, clearing my texture cache and then logging back into beamng with the current version of the soliad and all the hubcaps are showing up, but some configs don't spawn with the soliad versions of the caps, you have to manually select them in the customization screen make sure you have all old versions off your computer before installing this new one and 1.6 which should drop tomorrow, you could just wait for that
